|Pĝrbarahm nikat kar pekẖ.

|see the Supreme Lord God near you.}}

{{g|ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਿਮਰਹ੝ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥

|Sĝs sĝs simrahu gobinḝ.

|With each and every breath, meditate in remembrance on the Lord of the Universe,}}

{{g|ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰ ਕੀ ਉਤਰੈ ਚਿੰਦ ॥

|Man anṯar kī uṯrai cẖinḝ.

|and the anxiety within your mind shall depart.}}

{{g|ਆਸ ਅਨਿਤ ਤਿਆਗਹ੝ ਤਰੰਗ ॥

|Ās aniṯ ṯi▫ĝgahu ṯarang.

|Abandon the waves of fleeting desire,}}

{{g|ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਨ ਮੰਗ ॥

|Sanṯ janĝ kī ḝẖūr man mang.

|and pray for the dust of the feet of the Saints.}}

{{g|ਆਪ੝ ਛੋਡਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਹ੝ ॥

|Āp cẖẖod benṯī karahu.

|Renounce your selfishness and conceit and offer your prayers.}}

{{g|ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰ੝ ਤਰਹ੝ ॥

|Sĝḝẖsang agan sĝgar ṯarahu.

|In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, cross over the ocean of fire.}}

{{g|ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਕੇ ਭਰਿ ਲੇਹ੝ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥

|Har ḝẖan ke bẖar leho bẖandĝr.

|Fill your stores with the wealth of the Lord.}}

|Nĝnak gur pūre namaskĝr. ((1))

|Nanak bows in humility and reverence to the Perfect Guru. ((1))}}

|Happiness, intuitive peace, poise and bliss -}}

|Sĝḝẖsang bẖaj parmĝnanḝ.

|in the Company of the Holy, meditate on the Lord of supreme bliss.}}

{{g|ਨਰਕ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਉਧਾਰਹ੝ ਜੀਉ ॥

|Narak nivĝr uḝẖĝrahu jī▫o.

|You shall be spared from hell - save your soul!}}

|Gun gobinḝ amriṯ ras pī▫o.

|Drink in the ambrosial essence of the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.}}

|Cẖiṯ cẖiṯvahu nĝrĝ▫iṇ ek.

|Focus your consciousness on the One, the All-pervading Lord -}}

{{g|ਝਕ ਰੂਪ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਰੰਗ ਅਨੇਕ ॥

|Ėk rūp jĝ ke rang anek.

|He has One Form, but He has many manifestations.}}

{{g|ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਾਮੋਦਰ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ॥

|Gopĝl ḝĝmoḝar ḝīn ḝa▫i▫ĝl.

|Sustainer of the Universe, Lord of the world, Kind to the poor,}}

{{g|ਦ੝ਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥

|Ḏukẖ bẖanjan pūran kirpĝl.

|Destroyer of sorrow, perfectly Merciful.}}

{{g|ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਮ੝ ਬਾਰੰ ਬਾਰ ॥

|Simar simar nĝm bĝraʼn bĝr.

|Meditate, meditate in remembrance on the Naam, again and again.}}

{{g|ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਅਧਾਰ ॥੨॥

|Nĝnak jī▫a kĝ ihai aḝẖĝr. ((2))

|O Nanak, it is the Support of the soul. ((2))}}

|Uṯam salok sĝḝẖ ke bacẖan.

|The most sublime hymns are the Words of the Holy.}}

{{g|ਅਮ੝ਲੀਕ ਲਾਲ ਝਹਿ ਰਤਨ ॥

|Amulīk lĝl ehi raṯan.

|These are priceless rubies and gems.}}

{{g|ਸ੝ਨਤ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਹੋਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥

|Sunaṯ kamĝvaṯ hoṯ uḝẖĝr.

|One who listens and acts on them is saved.}}

{{g|ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਲੋਕਹ ਨਿਸਤਾਰ ॥

|Āp ṯarai lokah nisṯĝr.

|He himself swims across, and saves others as well.}}

{{g|ਸਫਲ ਜੀਵਨ੝ ਸਫਲ੝ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਸੰਗ੝ ॥

|Safal jīvan safal ṯĝ kĝ sang.

|His life is prosperous, and his company is fruitful;}}

{{g|ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ੝ ॥

|Jĝ kai man lĝgĝ har rang.

|his mind is imbued with the love of the Lord.}}

{{g|ਜੈ ਜੈ ਸਬਦ੝ ਅਨਾਹਦ੝ ਵਾਜੈ ॥

|Jai jai sabaḝ anĝhaḝ vĝjai.

|Hail, hail to him, for whom the sound current of the Shabad vibrates.}}

{{g|ਸ੝ਨਿ ਸ੝ਨਿ ਅਨਦ ਕਰੇ ਪ੝ਰਭ੝ ਗਾਜੈ ॥

|Sun sun anaḝ kare parabẖ gĝjai.

|Hearing it again and again, he is in bliss, proclaiming God's Praises.}}

{{g|ਪ੝ਰਗਟੇ ਗ੝ਪਾਲ ਮਹਾਂਤ ਕੈ ਮਾਥੇ ॥

|Pargate gupĝl mahĝʼnṯ kai mĝthe.

|The Lord radiates from the foreheads of the Holy.}}

{{g|ਨਾਨਕ ਉਧਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਾਥੇ ॥੩॥

|Nĝnak uḝẖre ṯin kai sĝthe. ((3))

|Nanak is saved in their company. ((3))}}

{{g|ਸਰਨਿ ਜੋਗ੝ ਸ੝ਨਿ ਸਰਨੀ ਆਝ ॥

|Saran jog sun sarnī ĝ▫e.

|Hearing that He can give Sanctuary, I have come seeking His Sanctuary.}}

{{g|ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੝ਰਭ ਆਪ ਮਿਲਾਝ ॥

|Kar kirpĝ parabẖ ĝp milĝ▫e.

|Bestowing His Mercy, God has blended me with Himself.}}

{{g|ਮਿਟਿ ਗਝ ਬੈਰ ਭਝ ਸਭ ਰੇਨ ॥

|Mit ga▫e bair bẖa▫e sabẖ ren.

|Hatred is gone, and I have become the dust of all.}}

{{g|ਅੰਮ੝ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ੝ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਲੈਨ ॥

|Amriṯ nĝm sĝḝẖsang lain.

|I have received the Ambrosial Naam in the Company of the Holy.}}

{{g|ਸ੝ਪ੝ਰਸੰਨ ਭਝ ਗ੝ਰਦੇਵ ॥

|Suparsan bẖa▫e gurḝev.

|The Divine Guru is perfectly pleased;}}

{{g|ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥

|Pūran ho▫ī sevak kī sev.

|the service of His servant has been rewarded.}}

{{g|ਆਲ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਤੇ ॥

|Āl janjĝl bikĝr ṯe rahṯe.

|I have been released from worldly entanglements and corruption,}}

{{g|ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸ੝ਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਕਹਤੇ ॥

|Rĝm nĝm sun rasnĝ kahṯe.

|hearing the Lord's Name and chanting it with my tongue.}}

{{g|ਕਰਿ ਪ੝ਰਸਾਦ੝ ਦਇਆ ਪ੝ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥

|Kar parsĝḝ ḝa▫i▫ĝ parabẖ ḝẖĝrī.

|By His Grace, God has bestowed His Mercy.}}

{{g|ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਬਹੀ ਖੇਪ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੪॥

|Nĝnak nibhī kẖep hamĝrī. ((4))

|O Nanak, my merchandise has arrived save and sound. ((4))}}

{{g|ਪ੝ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹ੝ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤ ॥

|Parabẖ kī usṯaṯ karahu sanṯ mīṯ.

|Sing the Praises of God, O Saints, O friends,}}

{{g|ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਝਕਾਗਰ ਚੀਤ ॥

|Sĝvḝẖĝn ekĝgar cẖīṯ.

|with total concentration and one-pointedness of mind.}}

{{g|ਸ੝ਖਮਨੀ ਸਹਜ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗ੝ਨ ਨਾਮ ॥

|Sukẖmanī sahj gobinḝ gun nĝm.

|Sukhmani is the peaceful ease, the Glory of God, the Naam.}}

{{g|ਜਿਸ੝ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਸ੝ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥

|Jis man basai so hoṯ niḝẖĝn.

|When it abides in the mind, one becomes wealthy.}}

{{g|ਸਰਬ ਇਛਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ॥

|Sarab icẖẖĝ ṯĝ kī pūran ho▫e.

|All desires are fulfilled.}}

{{g|ਪ੝ਰਧਾਨ ਪ੝ਰਖ੝ ਪ੝ਰਗਟ੝ ਸਭ ਲੋਇ ॥

|Parḝẖĝn purakẖ pargat sabẖ lo▫e.

|One becomes the most respected person, famous all over the world.}}

{{g|ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਪਾਝ ਅਸਥਾਨ੝ ॥

|Sabẖ ṯe ūcẖ pĝ▫e asthĝn.

|He obtains the highest place of all.}}

{{g|ਬਹ੝ਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨ੝ ॥

|Bahur na hovai ĝvan jĝn.

|He does not come and go in reincarnation any longer.}}

{{g|ਹਰਿ ਧਨ੝ ਖਾਟਿ ਚਲੈ ਜਨ੝ ਸੋਇ ॥

|Har ḝẖan kẖĝt cẖalai jan so▫e.

|One who departs, after earning the wealth of the Lord's Name,}}

{{g|ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੫॥

|Nĝnak jisahi parĝpaṯ ho▫e. ((5))

|O Nanak, realizes it. ((5))}}

{{g|ਖੇਮ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ॥

|Kẖem sĝʼnṯ riḝẖ nav niḝẖ.

|Comfort, peace and tranquility, wealth and the nine treasures;}}

{{g|ਬ੝ਧਿ ਗਿਆਨ੝ ਸਰਬ ਤਹ ਸਿਧਿ ॥

|Buḝẖ gi▫ĝn sarab ṯah siḝẖ.

|wisdom, knowledge, and all spiritual powers;}}

{{g|ਬਿਦਿਆ ਤਪ੝ ਜੋਗ੝ ਪ੝ਰਭ ਧਿਆਨ੝ ॥

|Biḝi▫ĝ ṯap jog parabẖ ḝẖi▫ĝn.

|learning, penance, Yoga and meditation on God; }}

{{g|ਗਿਆਨ੝ ਸ੝ਰੇਸਟ ਊਤਮ ਇਸਨਾਨ੝ ॥

|Gi▫ĝn saresat ūṯam isnĝn.

|The most sublime wisdom and purifying baths;}}

{{g|ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਕਮਲ ਪ੝ਰਗਾਸ ॥

|Cẖĝr paḝĝrath kamal pargĝs.

|the four cardinal blessings, the opening of the heart-lotus;}}

{{g|ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਧਿ ਸਗਲ ਤੇ ਉਦਾਸ ॥

|Sabẖ kai maḝẖ sagal ṯe uḝĝs.

|in the midst of all, and yet detached from all;}}

{{g|ਸ੝ੰਦਰ੝ ਚਤ੝ਰ੝ ਤਤ ਕਾ ਬੇਤਾ ॥

|Sunḝar cẖaṯur ṯaṯ kĝ beṯĝ.

|beauty, intelligence, and the realization of reality;}}

{{g|ਸਮਦਰਸੀ ਝਕ ਦ੝ਰਿਸਟੇਤਾ ॥

|Samaḝrasī ek ḝaristeṯĝ.

|to look impartially upon all, and to see only the One}}

{{g|ਇਹ ਫਲ ਤਿਸ੝ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਮ੝ਖਿ ਭਨੇ ॥

|Ih fal ṯis jan kai mukẖ bẖane.

|These blessings come to one who chants the Naam with his mouth,}}

{{g|ਗ੝ਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਬਚਨ ਮਨਿ ਸ੝ਨੇ ॥੬॥

|Gur Nĝnak nĝm bacẖan man sune. ((6))

|and hears the Word with his ears through Guru Nanak. ((6))}}

{{g|ਇਹ੝ ਨਿਧਾਨ੝ ਜਪੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਇ ॥

|Ih niḝẖĝn japai man ko▫e.

|One who chants this treasure in his mind -}}

{{g|ਸਭ ਜ੝ਗ ਮਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥

|Sabẖ jug mėh ṯĝ kī gaṯ ho▫e.

|in every age, he attains salvation.}}

{{g|ਗ੝ਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਾਮ ਧ੝ਨਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥

|Guṇ gobinḝ nĝm ḝẖun baṇī.

|In it is the Glory of God, the Naam, the chanting of Gurbani.}}

{{g|ਸਿਮ੝ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੝ਰ ਬੇਦ ਬਖਾਣੀ ॥

|Simriṯ sĝsṯar beḝ bakẖĝṇī.

|The Simritees, the Shaastras and the Vedas speak of it.}}

{{g|ਸਗਲ ਮਤਾਂਤ ਕੇਵਲ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥

|Sagal maṯĝʼnṯ keval har nĝm.

|The essence of all religion is the Lord's Name alone.}}

{{g|ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਭਗਤ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਿਸ੝ਰਾਮ ॥

|Gobinḝ bẖagaṯ kai man bisrĝm.

|It abides in the minds of the devotees of God.}}

{{g|ਕੋਟਿ ਅਪ੝ਰਾਧ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟੈ ॥

|Kot aprĝḝẖ sĝḝẖsang mitai.

|Millions of sins are erased, in the Company of the Holy.}}

{{g|ਸੰਤ ਕ੝ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਛ੝ਟੈ ॥

|Sanṯ kirpĝ ṯe jam ṯe cẖẖutai.

|By the Grace of the Saint, one escapes the Messenger of Death.}}

{{g|ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਰਮ ਪ੝ਰਭਿ ਪਾਝ ॥

|Jĝ kai masṯak karam parabẖ pĝ▫e.

|Those, who have such pre-ordained destiny on their foreheads,}}

{{g|ਸਾਧ ਸਰਣਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਆਝ ॥੭॥

|Sĝḝẖ saraṇ Nĝnak ṯe ĝ▫e. ((7))

|O Nanak, enter the Sanctuary of the Saints. ((7))}}

{{g|ਜਿਸ੝ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਸ੝ਨੈ ਲਾਇ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਿ ॥

|Jis man basai sunai lĝ▫e parīṯ.

|One, within whose mind it abides, and who listens to it with love -}}

{{g|ਤਿਸ੝ ਜਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੝ਰਭ੝ ਚੀਤਿ ॥

|Ŧis jan ĝvai har parabẖ cẖīṯ.

|that humble person consciously remembers the Lord God.}}

{{g|ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਦੂਖ੝ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ॥

|Janam maran ṯĝ kĝ ḝūkẖ nivĝrai.

|The pains of birth and death are removed.}}

{{g|ਦ੝ਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਉਧਾਰੈ ॥

|Ḏulabẖ ḝeh ṯaṯkĝl uḝẖĝrai.

|The human body, so difficult to obtain, is instantly redeemed.}}

{{g|ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਭਾ ਅੰਮ੝ਰਿਤ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਬਾਨੀ ॥

|Nirmal sobẖĝ amriṯ ṯĝ kī bĝnī.

|Spotlessly pure is his reputation, and ambrosial is his speech.}}

|Ėk nĝm man mĝhi samĝnī.

|The One Name permeates his mind.}}

{{g|ਦੂਖ ਰੋਗ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਭੈ ਭਰਮ ॥

|Ḏūkẖ rog binse bẖai bẖaram.

|Sorrow, sickness, fear and doubt depart.}}

{{g|ਸਾਧ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਰਮ ॥

|Sĝḝẖ nĝm nirmal ṯĝ ke karam.

|He is called a Holy person; his actions are immaculate and pure.}}

{{g|ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਬਨੀ ॥

|Sabẖ ṯe ūcẖ ṯĝ kī sobẖĝ banī.

|His glory becomes the highest of all.}}

{{g|ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਗ੝ਣਿ ਨਾਮ੝ ਸ੝ਖਮਨੀ ॥੮॥੨੪॥

|Nĝnak ih guṇ nĝm sukẖmanī. ((8)(24))

|O Nanak, by these Glorious Virtues, this is named Sukhmani, Peace of mind. ((8)(24))}}
