Wanted to ask if there are softwares to translate english webpages to punjabi. Don't see one for google translation? Also are there any good sites in Punjabi, that have considerable coverage on sikh or any topics? Looked but mostly find only news sites. [[User:Gman124|Gman124]] 16:34, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

My Papa, the perfect Sikh of the Guru

Hari ji, I have been trying to read the story above, but I am having a very hard time making sense of it. With modifiers coming after words in Punjabi and before them in English things get confused in English.

Is she talking of her father or an adopted 'father' who came to her aid like a super Bhai Kanhaiya. I made some minor changes in the first sentence - perhaps, I have only made matters worse. Did the woman call (phone) or simply knock on the door>

Please revert the page if I have muddled things.

Thanks, Allenwalla 09:17, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Mischief not

Plese refer to my talk page.

Thanks for your words. Sant reyn seems to be a serious contributor. My comments seem to have offended him for he compares me to the taleban and tells me he is taking my contributions up with the Akal Takht, many important people, ect. I do not know his words are meant as a threat.

I have only the highest regard for 3HO and Gurmustuk Singh, Hari Singh (you), the Akal Takht and Avtar Singh Makkar of the SGPC in Amritsar and the Damdami Taksal (to whom I have written and have even wished I had years or the chance to study with). I hope my sewa here has been positive. I doubt that the SGPC is even aware of the maps (which I consider as my most useful contribution) I have done to help guide people around the Harmandar Sahib.

I would rather be anonymous, hence the use of a pen name, as I think that is what seva is about - I only signed the maps with my takhallus, giving credit to Sikhiwiki.

I cannot imagine saying to someone - I hope there are no more like you. Certainly an arrow without a Golden tip.

Hari ji, do you ever wish (as I do) that the old traditions, once so valued in Punjab - where Guru Nanak or you or I could sit together and learn from each other- and part knowing our exchange has enlivened us? Hard for me to find the value sometimes in others words, yet I know they all can come from only one place.

I see this forum as the closest thing to that tradition.

Sant reyn tells me that their are living people who know what Guru Gobind Singh said.

I am sorry to say that I don't know who the 'real Sant reyn is or what the words mean and I can't find any reference on the www, only that people use the name -- that is why I have always been asking people to translate Punjabi words - for one letter can make knowledge so hard to come by.

Thanks for your help

Bhai Sahib ji, thanks again.

Your help on the Babaji article has made the article much richer in meaning. I will work a bit on the page as their must be others in the world who don't 'get' the inside meaning here.

Also their are 2 new words I could use help with

parupkari -

Tikana -

These are in an article by Sant Reyn and I am afraid he would only be bothered by any questions from me - ti and kana (room?) are particularly interesting. Search shows both as names or institutions.

I just found Tikana as the preferred term for a sevapanthi centre, But what is the Ti (Di?)
