Hari ji, thanks much for your responses. On another note, the photo of BabaDeepSingh59.jpg used on the main page is clearer than I have seen before. I have often wondered the source. Is it a mural in one of the shrines at the Harmandar Sahib complex or an illustration? Do you have any idea.? IT would be useful to credit murals. Thanks Allenwalla 01:52, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Chart Baba Gurditta

Baba Atal ji seems to be called Ani Rai on this chart, is this correct? I can change it if need be. Please advise. Allenwalla 04:52, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

re. Baba Gurditta chart

Hope this works. It helped me to understand more clearly the sequences of who was who and where they all fit in. I kept Gurus in Blue, used the red circle as a symbol of fusion of the female and male elements (sun/son (daughter), womb, kara, with wich the Kartar added the gift of children/birth.

Also added Guru Tegh Bahadur (his original name also), Guru Gobind Singh and the passing of the Guruship. Hope this is acceptable? Allenwalla 02:03, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Sat Sri Akal Sir

Hello Sir

Gundeep here.I am in trouble these days. I am trying to face the disease of castesim strongly but everyone in my family, relatives is against me. Everyone is cursing me badly. I don't know what to do? What should be my reaction? I am in pain..I can't explain my pain in words. But this castesim has indulged in our society so badly and each human being is not ready to come out of it. If I am not accepting this and I am treating each individual on the basis of his/her personal traits and behavior but not on the basis of any caste creed etc..then everyone is trying to pull out me back and showing me negative approach of my thinking.

Please let me know what should I do? Why 'waheguru' has involved me in this situation. I have to choose one either my family or my own choice?

Please guide and show me right path. I am all alone and fighting against it lonely. No one is with me.Please you all help me and try to convince my family and tell them that what our guru says about this castesim. Please call my parents or mail them and convince them. I am asking for help from all of you.

Please help me otherwise I don't know what will happen. I am not able to bear this stress.

Regards Gundeep

re: Harbans Singh Jaswal

Thank you for your suggestion. I will try to locate one and upload it. Sat Sri Akal.

A rabbi, a minister and a Muslim

Food for thought, a rabbi, a minister and a Muslim sheik walk into a restaurant?

Combined edits

SSA, Hari ji, It seems i have gotten in the middle of your edits. Please check my additions. Judging by the line at what was described as only an extra room and its remarkablely beautifully detailed dome i am guessing this is the site of the rori bed. So I added wording and a caption to this effect.

I also expect that the site was being vandilized by squatters and like the coliseum in Rome was being used as a quarry where people could steal pieces for their homes as I know no sikh would want to see the Gurdwara damaged. I think the wall was added to stop further damage, i.e. more than mere rot and rather than falling apart people were actively taking it apart. Building an expensive perimeter wall, alone could hardly have stemmed the rot.

thanks for the info. Allenwalla 07:40, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Error on my part

I had meant to send to Sarbjeet, as i was wondering if his trip to bean town (Bangalore) was alone (business) or a family vacation, he had taken some snaps of a gurdwara there. Sorry for the confusion. Allenwalla 02:01, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Sir Ji

I have to add few latest events in ludhiana protests over ashutosh samagam in ludhiana in which few people were killed by punjab police. the protest was peaceful but police converted it into violent. That Blady fake Baba Ashutosh again acted against sikhs. He is same baba who claims himself incarnation of gurus and who misinterpret gurbani. Sacha sauda was thrown out by sikhs of malwa, now it was time for doaba sikhs to react on dera epdemic and they did but the government is against us. (Lucky 10:57, 8 December 2009 (UTC))

{reflist} problem.

Hi,

So for me to view the {reflist} on the page: Prof. Darshan Singh Khalsa I have to login. Is there a way to fix that?

Thanks. --Gaganji 06:46, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

News, maybe you can understand

Veerji, I saw you had asked for news. I saw your note leaving a link for Lucky ji, copied below - unfortunately I cannot understand the broadcast, but read one story.

Lucky ji, with migrant workers burning cars also that day, it seems the police (all Sikhs? or most of them in video) were more than a little fearful. I found one video, police shooting a lot in the air, little is seen of the Sikh protestors. http://www.zeenews.com/video/showvideo4746.html It seems the samagam was canceled and the dera leader was advised to go. One hurt person is shown being picked up. Terrible that someone lost his life over this and more peoples cars were set afire. I have never heard of this group before. Violence (or the seeming threat of violence) can beget violence. Unfortunately (Police used fire gas and batons to quell the protests. 15 policemen were also injured in the brick batting yesterday. ) this happened the day before, when migrant workers went on a rampage. http://www.zeenews.com/news584747.html Allenwalla 08:15, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Talk:Ghorian (new section)

Can you, if you have time, check these questions for me? thanks Allenwalla 01:33, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Also in the tribute to Darshan Singh, he seemed to be alive for awhile, but did not receive help at all and bleed to death in the street. Very tragic, also a film of the event - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns_4QhoTa3w&feature=related

Thanks for the help

Please check no. 8 again. I have added part of your explanation, which is much more powerful than that it replaces.

Specifically what caused me to see the translation as sexist, is the use of the words - bridegroom (male/husband) and spouse (the bride or wife - female), women seem to be left out of salvation, mukhti, whatever. As muslim women are often told to pray at home. It is my western listening that has trapped me and most likely anyone reading this who has not been brought up as a Sikh.

Perhaps adding - bridegroom (both the bride and the husband) and the spouse (Waheguru) - or am I still off?

Allenwalla 05:31, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

found info on net to answer my questions, the violence and death is however is questionable considering the teachings of the sikh gurus especially those of Guru Gobind Singh.

Kara Parshad help

Veer ji, I added tone to seperate the Sewadar from the sky in photo - Sewadar serving Kara Parshad. The first way I did this did not work so I added outside of updating photo box - first attempt could be tossed. Sorry for the trouble. Also seeing the trouble being caused over the Dasam Granth, perhaps I should stop asking about the events in Ludhiana, and just read the news and you tube accounts. St Sri Akal

Veer Ji, You gave me a lecture on Dasam Granth i want you to say the same to Sunny Sigh Dawood. He is against the Granth and i Support it. If we would go like this then there would be Feud with result of Banning of we both or banning of that whom you support. Kindly look into matter. Negative forces are here too.(Lucky 13:16, 19 December 2009 (UTC))

For your benifit and benifit of sikhi

It is a suggestion for your benifit and benifit of future generations regarding Sikhi. If you want to view the real interpretations and deep interpretations of GUrbani and Dasam Granth. Listen to this man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uapdOCpGs0U

The Link contain Vyakhya of Chandi di vaar. He is Simple person. He is not Scholar, Not Gyani but Gurmukh. Gurmukh who follows Paath, Arth, Vichaar, Visthar and of course Amal too. Listen to his views. The real essence of Gurbani and real essence of Chandi di Vaar(Bachitar natak, chritropakhyan or whatever) and Japji Sahib, Asa d vaar. This man Nihang Dharam Singh ji doing his best to preach Gurmat views not scholarly views. Whole videos are on Youtube.

Remember do not listen to any academic, any scholar, any scholar any preacher if you are really a gurmukh. These guys do not have Gyan, Daleel, even i don't have so nor sunny singh daod, not even jodh singh, darshan singh or any other. The Interpretations of Bhai Dharam Singh are only for Gurmukh. You will thank god after listening his vyakhya.

Remember he is gurmukh and listen his vistaar. God bless you.
