A sikh without keshas is not considered a sikh. If a sikh cuts his hair he is 'patit'. There should be no category of Keshadhari sikhs. A sikh who has kept hair but following different path is a MANMUKH. But by naming sikhs Keshdharis it means we are recognizing others as Sikhs who have not kept hair. Keshdhari (lit. one who does not trim or remove their hair). Jogis, Bairagis and many Sufis are keshdharis. Sikhs are generally Keshdharis as they also believe in maintaining a natural way of life, but sikhs do not believe that merely keeping hair, guarantees supreme bliss.

If a Sikh keeps their hair untrimmed because of Guru Gobind Singh's Hukam, he has to follow the tenets of the Guru's Hukam to become complete.
