| ਆਸਾ ਸੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਜੀਉ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ |
| Āsĝ Sekẖ Farīḝ jī▫o kī baṇī |
| Aasaa, The Word Of Shaykh Fareed Jee: |
| ੴ ਸਤਿਗਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ |
| Ik▫oaʼnkĝr saṯgur parsĝḝ. |
| One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: |
| ਦਿਲਹ ਮਹਬਤਿ ਜਿੰਨਹਹ ਸੇਈ ਸਚਿਆ ॥ |
| Ḏilahu muhabaṯ jinĥ se▫ī sacẖi▫ĝ. |
| They alone are true, whose love for God is deep and heart-felt. |
| ਜਿਨਹਹ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਰ ਮਖਿ ਹੋਰ ਸਿ ਕਾਂਢੇ ਕਚਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
| Jinĥ man hor mukẖ hor sė kĝʼndẖe kacẖi▫ĝ. (1) |
| Those who have one thing in their heart, and something else in their mouth, are judged to be false. (1) |
| ਰਤੇ ਇਸਕ ਖਦਾਇ ਰੰਗਿ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕੇ ॥ |
| Raṯe isak kẖuḝĝ▫e rang ḝīḝĝr ke. |
| Those who are imbued with love for the Lord, are delighted by His Vision. |
| ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਹਹ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਭਇ ਭਾਰ ਥੀਝ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| visri▫ĝ jinĥ nĝm ṯe bẖu▫e bẖĝr thī▫e. (1)rahĝ▫o. |
| Those who forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, are a burden on the earth. (1)(Pause) |
| ਆਪਿ ਲੀਝ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ਦਰਿ ਦਰਵੇਸ ਸੇ ॥ |
| Āp lī▫e laṛ lĝ▫e ḝar ḝarves se. |
| Those whom the Lord attaches to the hem of His robe, are the true dervishes at His Door. |
| ਤਿਨ ਧੰਨ ਜਣੇਦੀ ਮਾਉ ਆਝ ਸਫਲ ਸੇ ॥੨॥ |
| Ŧin ḝẖan jaṇeḝī mĝ▫o ĝ▫e safal se. (2) |
| Blessed are the mothers who gave birth to them, and fruitful is their coming into the world. (2) |
| ਪਰਵਦਗਾਰ ਅਪਾਰ ਅਗਮ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਤੂ ॥ |
| Parvarḝagĝr apĝr agam be▫anṯ ṯū. |
| O Lord, Sustainer and Cherisher, You are infinite, unfathomable and endless. |
| ਜਿਨਾ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਸਚ ਚੰਮਾ ਪੈਰ ਮੂੰ ॥੩॥ |
| Jinĝ pacẖẖĝṯĝ sacẖ cẖummĝ pair mūʼn. (3) |
| Those who recognize the True Lord - I kiss their feet. (3) |
| ਤੇਰੀ ਪਨਹ ਖਦਾਇ ਤੂ ਬਖਸੰਦਗੀ ॥ |
| Ŧerī panah kẖuḝĝ▫e ṯū bakẖsanḝgī. |
| I seek Your Protection - You are the Forgiving Lord. |
| ਸੇਖ ਫਰੀਦੈ ਖੈਰ ਦੀਜੈ ਬੰਦਗੀ ॥੪॥੧॥ |
| Sekẖ Farīḝai kẖair ḝījai banḝagī. (4)(1) |
| Please, bless Shaykh Fareed with the bounty of Your meditative worship. (4)(1) |

| Aasaa: |
| ਬੋਲੈ ਸੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਅਲਹ ਲਗੇ ॥ |
| Bolai Sekẖ Farīḝ pi▫ĝre alah lage. |
| Says Shaykh Fareed, O my dear friend, attach yourself to the Lord. |
| ਇਹ ਤਨ ਹੋਸੀ ਖਾਕ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਗੋਰ ਘਰੇ ॥੧॥ |
| Ih ṯan hosī kẖĝk nimĝṇī gor gẖare. (1) |
| This body shall turn to dust, and its home shall be a neglected graveyard. (1) |
| ਆਜ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਸੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਟਾਕਿਮ ਕੂੰਜੜੀਆ ਮਨਹ ਮਚਿੰਦੜੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| Āj milĝvĝ Sekẖ Farīḝ tĝkim kūnjaṛī▫ĝ manhu macẖinḝ▫ṛī▫ĝ. (1)rahĝ▫o. |
| You can meet the Lord today, O Shaykh Fareed, if you restrain your bird-like desires which keep your mind in turmoil. (1)(Pause) |
| ਜੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈਝ ਘਮਿ ਨ ਆਈਝ ॥ |
| Je jĝṇĝ mar jĝ▫ī▫ai gẖum na ĝ▫ī▫ai. |
| If I had known that I was to die, and not return again, |
| ਝੂਠੀ ਦਨੀਆ ਲਗਿ ਨ ਆਪ ਵਞਾਈਝ ॥੨॥ |
| Jẖūṯẖī ḝunī▫ĝ lag na ĝp vañĝ▫ī▫ai. (2) |
| I would not have ruined myself by clinging to the world of falsehood. (2) |
| ਬੋਲੀਝ ਸਚ ਧਰਮ ਝੂਠ ਨ ਬੋਲੀਝ ॥ |
| Bolī▫ai sacẖ ḝẖaram jẖūṯẖ na bolī▫ai. |
| So speak the Truth, in righteousness, and do not speak falsehood. |
| ਜੋ ਗਰ ਦਸੈ ਵਾਟ ਮਰੀਦਾ ਜੋਲੀਝ ॥੩॥ |
| Jo gur ḝasai vĝt murīḝĝ jolī▫ai. (3) |
| The disciple ought to travel the route, pointed out by the Guru. (3) |
| ਛੈਲ ਲੰਘੰਦੇ ਪਾਰਿ ਗੋਰੀ ਮਨ ਧੀਰਿਆ ॥ |
| Cẖẖail langẖanḝe pĝr gorī man ḝẖīri▫ĝ. |
| Seeing the youths being carried across, the hearts of the beautiful young soul-brides are encouraged. |
| ਕੰਚਨ ਵੰਨੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਕਲਵਤਿ ਚੀਰਿਆ ॥੪॥ |
| Kancẖan vanne pĝse kalvaṯ cẖīri▫ĝ. (4) |
| Those who side with the glitter of gold, are cut down with a saw. (4) |
| ਸੇਖ ਹੈਯਾਤੀ ਜਗਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਆ ॥ |
| Sekẖ haiyĝṯī jag na ko▫ī thir rahi▫ĝ. |
| O Shaykh, no one's life is permanent in this world. |
| ਜਿਸ ਆਸਣਿ ਹਮ ਬੈਠੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਬੈਸਿ ਗਇਆ ॥੫॥ |
| Jis ĝsaṇ ham baiṯẖe keṯe bais ga▫i▫ĝ. (5) |
| That seat, upon which we now sit - many others sat on it and have since departed. (5) |
| ਕਤਿਕ ਕੂੰਜਾਂ ਚੇਤਿ ਡਉ ਸਾਵਣਿ ਬਿਜਲੀਆਂ ॥ |
| Kaṯik kūʼnjĝʼn cẖeṯ da▫o sĝvaṇ bijulī▫ĝʼn. |
| As the swallows appear in the month of Katik, forest fires in the month of Chayt, and lightning in Saawan, |
| ਸੀਆਲੇ ਸੋਹੰਦੀਆਂ ਪਿਰ ਗਲਿ ਬਾਹੜੀਆਂ ॥੬॥ |
| Sī▫ĝle sohanḝī▫ĝʼn pir gal bĝhṛī▫ĝʼn. (6) |
| and as the bride's arms adorn her husband's neck in winter;(6) |
| ਚਲੇ ਚਲਣਹਾਰ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ਲੇਇ ਮਨੋ ॥ |
| Cẖale cẖalaṇhĝr vicẖĝrĝ le▫e mano. |
| Just so, the transitory human bodies pass away. Reflect upon this in your mind. |
| ਗੰਢੇਦਿਆਂ ਛਿਅ ਮਾਹ ਤੜੰਦਿਆ ਹਿਕ ਖਿਨੋ ॥੭॥ |
| Gandẖeḝi▫ĝʼn cẖẖi▫a mĝh ṯuṛanḝi▫ĝ hik kẖino. (7) |
| It takes six months to form the body, but it breaks in an instant. (7) |
| ਜਿਮੀ ਪਛੈ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਫਰੀਦਾ ਖੇਵਟ ਕਿੰਨਿ ਗਝ ॥ |
| Jimī pucẖẖai asmĝn Farīḝĝ kẖevat kinn ga▫e. |
| O Fareed, the earth asks the sky, "Where have the boatmen gone? |
| ਜਾਲਣ ਗੋਰਾਂ ਨਾਲਿ ਉਲਾਮੇ ਜੀਅ ਸਹੇ ॥੮॥੨॥ |
| Jĝlaṇ gorĝʼn nĝl ulĝme jī▫a sahe. (8)(2) |
| Some have been cremated, and some lie in their graves; their souls are suffering rebukes. (8)(2) |
