| ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਣਿ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਆਖੈ ਇਕ ਦੂ ਇਕ ਸਿਆਣਾ ॥ |
| Nĝnak ĝkẖaṇ sabẖ ko ĝkẖai ik ḝū ik si▫ĝṇĝ. |
| O Nanak, everyone speaks of Him, each one wiser than the rest. |
| ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਡੀ ਨਾਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਹੋਵੈ ॥ |
| vadĝ sĝhib vadī nĝ▫ī kīṯĝ jĝ kĝ hovai. |
| Great is the Master, Great is His Name. Whatever happens is according to His Will. |
| ਨਾਨਕ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਆਪੌ ਜਾਣੈ ਅਗੈ ਗਇਆ ਨ ਸੋਹੈ ॥੨੧॥ |
| Nĝnak je ko ĝpou jĝṇai agai ga▫i▫ĝ na sohai. ((21)) |
| O Nanak, one who claims to know everything shall not be decorated in the world hereafter. ((21)) |
| ਪਾਤਾਲਾ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਲਖ ਆਗਾਸਾ ਆਗਾਸ ॥ |
| Pĝṯĝlĝ pĝṯĝl lakẖ ĝgĝsĝ ĝgĝs. |
| There are nether worlds beneath nether worlds, and hundreds of thousands of heavenly worlds above. |
| ਓੜਕ ਓੜਕ ਭਾਲਿ ਥਕੇ ਵੇਦ ਕਹਨਿ ਇਕ ਵਾਤ ॥ |
| Oṛak oṛak bẖĝl thake veḝ kahan ik vĝṯ. |
| The Vedas say that you can search and search for them all, until you grow weary. |
| ਸਹਸ ਅਠਾਰਹ ਕਹਨਿ ਕਤੇਬਾ ਅਸਲੂ ਇਕ ਧਾਤ ॥ |
| Sahas aṯẖĝrah kahan kaṯebĝ asulū ik ḝẖĝṯ. |
| The scriptures say that there are 18,000 worlds, but in reality, there is only One Universe. |
| ਲੇਖਾ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਲਿਖੀਝ ਲੇਖੈ ਹੋਇ ਵਿਣਾਸ ॥ |
| Lekẖĝ ho▫e ṯa likī▫ai lekẖai ho▫e viṇĝs. |
| If you try to write an account of this, you will surely finish yourself before you finish writing it. |
| ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡਾ ਆਖੀਝ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਆਪ ॥੨੨॥ |
| Nĝnak vadĝ ĝkẖī▫ai ĝpe jĝṇai ĝp. ((22)) |
| O Nanak, call Him Great! He Himself knows Himself. ((22)) |
| ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਝਤੀ ਸਰਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਆ ॥ |
| Sĝlĝhī sĝlĝhi eṯī suraṯ na pĝ▫ī▫ĝ. |
| The praisers praise the Lord, but they do not obtain intuitive understanding - |
| ਨਦੀਆ ਅਤੈ ਵਾਹ ਪਵਹਿ ਸਮੰਦਿ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਅਹਿ ॥ |
| Naḝī▫ĝ aṯai vĝh pavahi samunḝ na jĝṇī▫ahi. |
| the streams and rivers flowing into the ocean do not know its vastness. |
| ਸਮੰਦ ਸਾਹ ਸਲਤਾਨ ਗਿਰਹਾ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਾਲ ਧਨ ॥ |
| Samunḝ sĝh sulṯĝn girhĝ seṯī mĝl ḝẖan. |
| Even kings and emperors, with mountains of property and oceans of wealth - |
| ਕੀੜੀ ਤਲਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਨੀ ਜੇ ਤਿਸ ਮਨਹ ਨ ਵੀਸਰਹਿ ॥੨੩॥ |
| Kīṛī ṯul na hovnī je ṯis manhu na vīsrahi. ((23)) |
| these are not even equal to an ant, who does not forget God. ((23)) |
| ਅੰਤ ਨ ਸਿਫਤੀ ਕਹਣਿ ਨ ਅੰਤ ॥ |
| Anṯ na sifṯī kahaṇ na anṯ. |
| Endless are His Praises, endless are those who speak them. |
| ਅੰਤ ਨ ਕਰਣੈ ਦੇਣਿ ਨ ਅੰਤ ॥ |
| Anṯ na karṇai ḝeṇ na anṯ. |
| Endless are His Actions, endless are His Gifts. |
| ਅੰਤ ਨ ਵੇਖਣਿ ਸਣਣਿ ਨ ਅੰਤ ॥ |
| Anṯ na vekẖaṇ suṇaṇ na anṯ. |
| Endless is His Vision, endless is His Hearing. |
| ਅੰਤ ਨ ਜਾਪੈ ਕਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਮੰਤ ॥ |
| Anṯ na jĝpai ki▫ĝ man manṯ. |
| His limits cannot be perceived. What is the Mystery of His Mind? |
| ਅੰਤ ਨ ਜਾਪੈ ਕੀਤਾ ਆਕਾਰ ॥ |
| Anṯ na jĝpai kīṯĝ ĝkĝr. |
| The limits of the created universe cannot be perceived. |
| ਅੰਤ ਨ ਜਾਪੈ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ ॥ |
| Anṯ na jĝpai pĝrĝvĝr. |
| Its limits here and beyond cannot be perceived. |
| ਅੰਤ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਕੇਤੇ ਬਿਲਲਾਹਿ ॥ |
| Anṯ kĝraṇ keṯe billĝhi. |
| Many struggle to know His limits, |
| ਤਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਨ ਪਾਝ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ |
| Ŧĝ ke anṯ na pĝ▫e jĝhi. |
| but His limits cannot be found. |
| ਝਹ ਅੰਤ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| Ėhu anṯ na jĝṇai ko▫e. |
| No one can know these limits. |
| ਬਹਤਾ ਕਹੀਝ ਬਹਤਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| Bahuṯĝ kahī▫ai bahuṯĝ ho▫e. |
| The more you say about them, the more there still remains to be said. |
| ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਊਚਾ ਥਾਉ ॥ |
| vadĝ sĝhib ūcẖĝ thĝ▫o. |
| Great is the Master, High is His Heavenly Home. |
| ਊਚੇ ਉਪਰਿ ਊਚਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ |
| Ūcẖe upar ūcẖĝ nĝ▫o. |
| Highest of the High, above all is His Name. |
| ਝਵਡ ਊਚਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| Ėvad ūcẖĝ hovai ko▫e. |
| Only one as Great and as High as God |
| ਤਿਸ ਊਚੇ ਕਉ ਜਾਣੈ ਸੋਇ ॥ |
| Ŧis ūcẖe ka▫o jĝṇai so▫e. |
| can know His Lofty and Exalted State. |
| ਜੇਵਡ ਆਪਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ॥ |
| Jevad ĝp jĝṇai ĝp ĝp. |
| Only He Himself is that Great. He Himself knows Himself. |
| ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਕਰਮੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੨੪॥ |
| Nĝnak naḝrī karmī ḝĝṯ. ((24)) |
| O Nanak, by His Glance of Grace, He bestows His Blessings. ((24)) |
| ਬਹਤਾ ਕਰਮ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| Bahuṯĝ karam likẖi▫ĝ nĝ jĝ▫e. |
| His Blessings are so abundant that there can be no written account of them. |
| ਵਡਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਤਿਲ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥ |
| vadĝ ḝĝṯĝ ṯil na ṯamĝ▫e. |
| The Great Giver does not hold back anything. |
| ਕੇਤੇ ਮੰਗਹਿ ਜੋਧ ਅਪਾਰ ॥ |
| Keṯe mangahi joḝẖ apĝr. |
| There are so many great, heroic warriors begging at the Door of the Infinite Lord. |
| ਕੇਤਿਆ ਗਣਤ ਨਹੀ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥ |
| Keṯi▫ĝ gaṇaṯ nahī vīcẖĝr. |
| So many contemplate and dwell upon Him, that they cannot be counted. |
| ਕੇਤੇ ਖਪਿ ਤਟਹਿ ਵੇਕਾਰ ॥ |
| Keṯe kẖap ṯutahi vekĝr. |
| So many waste away to death engaged in corruption. |
| ਕੇਤੇ ਲੈ ਲੈ ਮਕਰ ਪਾਹਿ ॥ |
| Keṯe lai lai mukar pĝhi. |
| So many take and take again, and then deny receiving. |
| ਕੇਤੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਖਾਹੀ ਖਾਹਿ ॥ |
| Keṯe mūrakẖ kẖĝhī kẖĝhi. |
| So many foolish consumers keep on consuming. |
| ਕੇਤਿਆ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਸਦ ਮਾਰ ॥ |
| Keṯi▫ĝ ḝūkẖ bẖūkẖ saḝ mĝr. |
| So many endure distress, deprivation and constant abuse. |
| ਝਹਿ ਭਿ ਦਾਤਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਾਤਾਰ ॥ |
| Ėhi bẖė ḝĝṯ ṯerī ḝĝṯĝr. |
| Even these are Your Gifts, O Great Giver! |
| ਬੰਦਿ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਭਾਣੈ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| Banḝ kẖalĝsī bẖĝṇai ho▫e. |
| Liberation from bondage comes only by Your Will. |
| ਹੋਰ ਆਖਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| Hor ĝkẖ na sakai ko▫e. |
| No one else has any say in this. |
| ਜੇ ਕੋ ਖਾਇਕ ਆਖਣਿ ਪਾਇ ॥ |
| Je ko kẖĝ▫ik ĝkẖaṇ pĝ▫e. |
| If some fool should presume to say that he does, |
| ਓਹ ਜਾਣੈ ਜੇਤੀਆ ਮਹਿ ਖਾਇ ॥ |
| Oh jĝṇai jeṯī▫ĝ muhi kẖĝ▫e. |
| he shall learn, and feel the effects of his folly. |
| ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ॥ |
| Āpe jĝṇai ĝpe ḝe▫e. |
| He Himself knows, He Himself gives. |
| ਆਖਹਿ ਸਿ ਭਿ ਕੇਈ ਕੇਇ ॥ |
| Ākẖahi sė bẖė ke▫ī ke▫e. |
| Few, very few are those who acknowledge this. |
| ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਬਖਸੇ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹ ॥ |
| Jis no bakẖse sifaṯ sĝlĝh. |
| One who is blessed to sing the Praises of the Lord, |
| ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ॥੨੫॥ |
| Nĝnak pĝṯisĝhī pĝṯisĝhu. ((25)) |
| O Nanak, is the king of kings. ((25)) |
| ਅਮਲ ਗਣ ਅਮਲ ਵਾਪਾਰ ॥ |
| Amul guṇ amul vĝpĝr. |
| Priceless are His Virtues, Priceless are His Dealings. |
| ਅਮਲ ਵਾਪਾਰੀਝ ਅਮਲ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥ |
| Amul vĝpĝrī▫e amul bẖandĝr. |
| Priceless are His Dealers, Priceless are His Treasures. |
| ਅਮਲ ਆਵਹਿ ਅਮਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ |
| Amul ĝvahi amul lai jĝhi. |
| Priceless are those who come to Him, Priceless are those who buy from Him. |
| ਅਮਲ ਭਾਇ ਅਮਲਾ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| Amul bẖĝ▫e amulĝ samĝhi. |
| Priceless is Love for Him, Priceless is absorption into Him. |
| ਅਮਲ ਧਰਮ ਅਮਲ ਦੀਬਾਣ ॥ |
| Amul ḝẖaram amul ḝībĝṇ. |
| Priceless is the Divine Law of Dharma, Priceless is the Divine Court of Justice. |
| ਅਮਲ ਤਲ ਅਮਲ ਪਰਵਾਣ ॥ |
| Amul ṯul amul parvĝṇ. |
| Priceless are the scales, priceless are the weights. |
| ਅਮਲ ਬਖਸੀਸ ਅਮਲ ਨੀਸਾਣ ॥ |
| Amul bakẖsīs amul nīsĝṇ. |
| Priceless are His Blessings, Priceless is His Banner and Insignia. |
| ਅਮਲ ਕਰਮ ਅਮਲ ਫਰਮਾਣ ॥ |
| Amul karam amul furmĝṇ. |
| Priceless is His Mercy, Priceless is His Royal Command. |
| ਅਮਲੋ ਅਮਲ ਆਖਿਆ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| Amulo amul ĝkẖi▫ĝ na jĝ▫e. |
| Priceless, O Priceless beyond expression! |
| ਆਖਿ ਆਖਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
| Ākẖ ĝkẖ rahe liv lĝ▫e. |
| Speak of Him continually, and remain absorbed in His Love. |
| ਆਖਹਿ ਵੇਦ ਪਾਠ ਪਰਾਣ ॥ |
| Ākẖahi veḝ pĝṯẖ purĝṇ. |
| The Vedas and the Puraanas speak. |
| ਆਖਹਿ ਪੜੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਵਖਿਆਣ ॥ |
| Ākẖahi paṛe karahi vakẖi▫ĝṇ. |
| The scholars speak and lecture. |
| ਆਖਹਿ ਬਰਮੇ ਆਖਹਿ ਇੰਦ ॥ |
| Ākẖahi barme ĝkẖahi inḝ. |
| Brahma speaks, Indra speaks. |
