| ਸਣਿਝ ਦੂਖ ਪਾਪ ਕਾ ਨਾਸ ॥੯॥ |
| Suṇi▫ai ḝūkẖ pĝp kĝ nĝs. ((9)) |
| Listening-pain and sin are erased. ((9)) |
| ਸਣਿਝ ਸਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਗਿਆਨ ॥ |
| Suṇi▫ai saṯ sanṯokẖ gi▫ĝn. |
| Listening-truth, contentment and spiritual wisdom. |
| ਸਣਿਝ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਕਾ ਇਸਨਾਨ ॥ |
| Suṇi▫ai aṯẖsaṯẖ kĝ isnĝn. |
| Listening-take your cleansing bath at the sixty-eight places of pilgrimage. |
| ਸਣਿਝ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨ ॥ |
| Suṇi▫ai paṛ paṛ pĝvahi mĝn. |
| Listening-reading and reciting, honor is obtained. |
| ਸਣਿਝ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨ ॥ |
| Suṇi▫ai lĝgai sahj ḝẖi▫ĝn. |
| Listening-intuitively grasp the essence of meditation. |
| ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਗਾਸ ॥ |
| Nĝnak bẖagṯĝ saḝĝ vigĝs. |
| O Nanak, the devotees are forever in bliss. |
| ਸਣਿਝ ਦੂਖ ਪਾਪ ਕਾ ਨਾਸ ॥੧੦॥ |
| Suṇi▫ai ḝūkẖ pĝp kĝ nĝs. ((10)) |
| Listening-pain and sin are erased. ((10)) |
| ਸਣਿਝ ਸਰਾ ਗਣਾ ਕੇ ਗਾਹ ॥ |
| Suṇi▫ai sarĝ guṇĝ ke gĝh. |
| Listening-dive deep into the ocean of virtue. |
| ਸਣਿਝ ਸੇਖ ਪੀਰ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ॥ |
| Suṇi▫ai sekẖ pīr pĝṯisĝh. |
| Listening-the Shaykhs, religious scholars, spiritual teachers and emperors. |
| ਸਣਿਝ ਅੰਧੇ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਰਾਹ ॥ |
| Suṇi▫ai anḝẖe pĝvahi rĝhu. |
| Listening-even the blind find the Path. |
| ਸਣਿਝ ਹਾਥ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਸਗਾਹ ॥ |
| Suṇi▫ai hĝth hovai asgĝhu. |
| Listening-the Unreachable comes within your grasp. |
| ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਗਾਸ ॥ |
| Nĝnak bẖagṯĝ saḝĝ vigĝs. |
| O Nanak, the devotees are forever in bliss. |

| ਮੰਨੇ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| Manne kī gaṯ kahī na jĝ▫e. |
| The state of the faithful cannot be described. |
| ਜੇ ਕੋ ਕਹੈ ਪਿਛੈ ਪਛਤਾਇ ॥ |
| Je ko kahai picẖẖai pacẖẖuṯĝ▫e. |
| One who tries to describe this shall regret the attempt. |
| ਕਾਗਦਿ ਕਲਮ ਨ ਲਿਖਣਹਾਰ ॥ |
| Kĝgaḝ kalam na likẖaṇhĝr. |
| No paper, no pen, no scribe |
| ਮੰਨੇ ਕਾ ਬਹਿ ਕਰਨਿ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥ |
| Manne kĝ bahi karan vīcẖĝr. |
| can record the state of the faithful. |
| ਝਸਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| Aisĝ nĝm niranjan ho▫e. |
| Such is the Name of the Immaculate Lord. |
| ਜੇ ਕੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੧੨॥ |
| Je ko man jĝṇai man ko▫e. ((12)) |
| Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. ((12)) |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਸਰਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਧਿ ॥ |
| Mannai suraṯ hovai man buḝẖ. |
| The faithful have intuitive awareness and intelligence. |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਸਗਲ ਭਵਣ ਕੀ ਸਧਿ ॥ |
| Mannai sagal bẖavaṇ kī suḝẖ. |
| The faithful know about all worlds and realms. |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਚੋਟਾ ਨਾ ਖਾਇ ॥ |
| Mannai muhi cẖotĝ nĝ kẖĝ▫e. |
| The faithful shall never be struck across the face. |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| Mannai jam kai sĝth na jĝ▫e. |
| The faithful do not have to go with the Messenger of Death. |
| ਝਸਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| Aisĝ nĝm niranjan ho▫e. |
| Such is the Name of the Immaculate Lord. |
| ਜੇ ਕੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੧੩॥ |
| Je ko man jĝṇai man ko▫e. ((13)) |
| Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. ((13)) |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਠਾਕ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥ |
| Mannai mĝrag ṯẖĝk na pĝ▫e. |
| The path of the faithful shall never be blocked. |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਪਰਗਟ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| Mannai paṯ si▫o pargat jĝ▫e. |
| The faithful shall depart with honor and fame. |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਮਗ ਨ ਚਲੈ ਪੰਥ ॥ |
| Mannai mag na cẖalai panth. |
| The faithful do not follow empty religious rituals. |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਧਰਮ ਸੇਤੀ ਸਨਬੰਧ ॥ |
| Mannai ḝẖaram seṯī san▫banḝẖ. |
| The faithful are firmly bound to the Dharma. |
| ਝਸਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| Aisĝ nĝm niranjan ho▫e. |
| Such is the Name of the Immaculate Lord. |
| ਜੇ ਕੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੧੪॥ |
| Je ko man jĝṇai man ko▫e. ((14)) |
| Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. ((14)) |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੋਖ ਦਆਰ ॥ |
| Mannai pĝvahi mokẖ ḝu▫ĝr. |
| The faithful find the Door of Liberation. |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਪਰਵਾਰੈ ਸਾਧਾਰ ॥ |
| Mannai parvĝrai sĝḝẖĝr. |
| The faithful uplift and redeem their family and relations. |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਤਰੈ ਤਾਰੇ ਗਰ ਸਿਖ ॥ |
| Mannai ṯarai ṯĝre gur sikẖ. |
| The faithful are saved, and carried across with the Sikhs of the Guru. |
| ਮੰਨੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵਹਿ ਨ ਭਿਖ ॥ |
| Mannai Nĝnak bẖavahi na bẖikẖ. |
| The faithful, O Nanak, do not wander around begging. |
| ਝਸਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| Aisĝ nĝm niranjan ho▫e. |
| Such is the Name of the Immaculate Lord. |
| ਜੇ ਕੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੧੫॥ |
| Je ko man jĝṇai man ko▫e. ((15)) |
| Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. ((15)) |
| ਪੰਚ ਪਰਵਾਣ ਪੰਚ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥ |
| Pancẖ parvĝṇ pancẖ parḝẖĝn. |
| The chosen ones, the self-elect, are accepted and approved. |
| ਪੰਚੇ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਮਾਨ ॥ |
| Pancẖe pĝvahi ḝargahi mĝn. |
| The chosen ones are honored in the Court of the Lord. |
| ਪੰਚੇ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਦਰਿ ਰਾਜਾਨ ॥ |
| Pancẖe sohahi ḝar rĝjĝn. |
| The chosen ones look beautiful in the courts of kings. |
| ਪੰਚਾ ਕਾ ਗਰ ਝਕ ਧਿਆਨ ॥ |
| Pancẖĝ kĝ gur ek ḝẖi▫ĝn. |
| The chosen ones meditate single-mindedly on the Guru. |
| ਜੇ ਕੋ ਕਹੈ ਕਰੈ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥ |
| Je ko kahai karai vīcẖĝr. |
| No matter how much anyone tries to explain and describe them, |
| ਕਰਤੇ ਕੈ ਕਰਣੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਸਮਾਰ ॥ |
| Karṯe kai karṇai nĝhī sumĝr. |
| the actions of the Creator cannot be counted. |
| ਧੌਲ ਧਰਮ ਦਇਆ ਕਾ ਪੂਤ ॥ |
| Ḏẖoul ḝẖaram ḝa▫i▫ĝ kĝ pūṯ. |
| The mythical bull is Dharma, the son of compassion; |
| ਸੰਤੋਖ ਥਾਪਿ ਰਖਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਸੂਤਿ ॥ |
| Sanṯokẖ thĝp rakẖi▫ĝ jin sūṯ. |
| this is what patiently holds the earth in its place. |
| ਜੇ ਕੋ ਬਝੈ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਚਿਆਰ ॥ |
| Je ko bujẖai hovai sacẖiĝr. |
| One who understands this becomes truthful. |
| ਧਵਲੈ ਉਪਰਿ ਕੇਤਾ ਭਾਰ ॥ |
| Ḏẖavlai upar keṯĝ bẖĝr. |
| What a great load there is on the bull! |
| ਧਰਤੀ ਹੋਰ ਪਰੈ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ॥ |
| Ḏẖarṯī hor parai hor hor. |
| So many worlds beyond this world-so very many! |
| ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਭਾਰ ਤਲੈ ਕਵਣ ਜੋਰ ॥ |
| Ŧis ṯe bẖĝr ṯalai kavaṇ jor. |
| What power holds them, and supports their weight? |
| ਜੀਅ ਜਾਤਿ ਰੰਗਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਵ ॥ |
| Jī▫a jĝṯ rangĝ ke nĝv. |
| The names and the colors of the assorted species of beings |
| ਸਭਨਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਵੜੀ ਕਲਾਮ ॥ |
| Sabẖnĝ likẖi▫ĝ vuṛī kalĝm. |
| were all inscribed by the Ever-flowing Pen of God. |
| ਝਹ ਲੇਖਾ ਲਿਖਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| Ėhu lekẖĝ likẖ jĝṇai ko▫e. |
| Who knows how to write this account? |
| ਲੇਖਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕੇਤਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| Lekẖĝ likẖi▫ĝ keṯĝ ho▫e. |
| Just imagine what a huge scroll it would take! |
| ਕੇਤਾ ਤਾਣ ਸਆਲਿਹ ਰੂਪ ॥ |
| Keṯĝ ṯĝṇ su▫ĝlihu rūp. |
| What power! What fascinating beauty! |
| ਕੇਤੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੌਣ ਕੂਤ ॥ |
| Keṯī ḝĝṯ jĝṇai kouṇ kūṯ. |
| And what gifts! Who can know their extent? |
| ਕੀਤਾ ਪਸਾਉ ਝਕੋ ਕਵਾਉ ॥ |
| Kīṯĝ pasĝ▫o eko kavĝ▫o. |
| You created the vast expanse of the Universe with One Word! |
| ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਝ ਲਖ ਦਰੀਆਉ ॥ |
| Ŧis ṯe ho▫e lakẖ ḝarī▫ĝ▫o. |
| Hundreds of thousands of rivers began to flow. |
| ਕਦਰਤਿ ਕਵਣ ਕਹਾ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥ |
| Kuḝraṯ kavaṇ kahĝ vīcẖĝr. |
| How can Your Creative Potency be described? |
| ਵਾਰਿਆ ਨ ਜਾਵਾ ਝਕ ਵਾਰ ॥ |
| vĝri▫ĝ na jĝvĝ ek vĝr. |
| I cannot even once be a sacrifice to You. |
| ਜੋ ਤਧ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਾਈ ਭਲੀ ਕਾਰ ॥ |
| Jo ṯuḝẖ bẖĝvai sĝ▫ī bẖalī kĝr. |
| Whatever pleases You is the only good done, |
| ਤੂ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥੧੬॥ |
| Ŧū saḝĝ salĝmaṯ nirankĝr. ((16)) |
| You, Eternal and Formless One! ((16)) |
| ਅਸੰਖ ਜਪ ਅਸੰਖ ਭਾਉ ॥ |
| Asaʼnkẖ jap asaʼnkẖ bẖĝ▫o. |
| Countless meditations, countless loves. |
| ਅਸੰਖ ਪੂਜਾ ਅਸੰਖ ਤਪ ਤਾਉ ॥ |
| Asaʼnkẖ pūjĝ asaʼnkẖ ṯap ṯĝ▫o. |
| Countless worship services, countless austere disciplines. |
| ਅਸੰਖ ਗਰੰਥ ਮਖਿ ਵੇਦ ਪਾਠ ॥ |
| Asaʼnkẖ garanth mukẖ veḝ pĝṯẖ. |
| Countless scriptures, and ritual recitations of the Vedas. |
| ਅਸੰਖ ਜੋਗ ਮਨਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਉਦਾਸ ॥ |
| Asaʼnkẖ jog man rahahi uḝĝs. |
| Countless Yogis, whose minds remain detached from the world. |
