Parupkaar

Parupkaar (Gurmukhi: ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰ) is a word which is based on two roots - Pariya (Gurmukhi: ਪਰਾਇਆ) which refers to a stranger, alien, foreign entity and oopkar (Gurmukhi: ਉਪਕਾਰ) which means to do good, be generous; to the right thing.
So the word "Parupkaar" means to do good to a stranger; to be generous to a foreign entity; to be nice to someone who you do not know.

| ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਸਖਿ ਬਸੇ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਲੋਚ ॥ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰ ਨਿਤ ਚਿਤਵਤੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਛ ਪੋਚ ॥੨॥ |
| Jī▫a janṯ sabẖ sukẖ base sabẖ kai man locẖ. Par▫upkĝr niṯ cẖiṯvaṯe nĝhī kacẖẖ pocẖ. (2) |
| All beings and creatures dwell in peace; the minds of all yearn for the Lord.
Those who continually remember the Lord, do good deeds for others; they harbor no ill will towards anyone. (2) |
| ਪਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ॥ |
| Parabẖ ka▫o simrahi se par▫upkĝrī. |
| Those who remember God generously help others. |
