We are Sikh not from particular sect OK. All Gurus are Saints. But all saints are not one's Guru. Bhagat Ravidass may be a Guru to many people. And so may be the case with Bhagat Kabir jee. These were great saints of the Bhagti movement and the relevant bani which was in sync with the Guru Nanak's and rest of the Sikh Gurus philosophy has found place of honour in the Guru Granth Sahib. Their bani which is in the SGGS is Gurubani.
However as an individual, they are reffered as Bhagats and not as Gurus by the Sikhs.
Though many across the Country treat them as their Gurus. However they are held in great respect by the Sikhs.
Hope this will clear some of the cobwebs of doubt. ([[User:Thegreateditor|Editor]] 07:29, 30 August 2008 (UTC))

Welcome chaingang47. Interesting moniker. 47 Independence? day, or division day and chaingang an american term for the rural prison chain gangs of the south?

Who do you mean to attack and what are you trying to get across. Do you see Bhagat as a term of less rank than Guru. Your use of words like ediot. (is this a new term for stupid people on the net -- E-diots or just a spelling mistake) or words used to disparage another will most likely end in your message getting yanked and wishing people to hell won't help either.

Guru is from 2 syllables in sanskrit. gu = darkness, or if you will pooh or fecal matter. it is used to refer to man's 'darker' animalistic state. ruu means light, therefore anyone who teaches one out of stupidity could be called a guru. Ravidass is shown on these pages with a turban - showing that one person at least thinks he wore a turban.

There is God the Guru of whom Ravidas spoke, La or Allah or call it Waheguru or Nirguna, Ram, Bhagwan all just terms for the teacher of us all.

Then there are Sikh Gurus and Sikhs, the devotees of those Gurus and their decendants, ect. who have chosen to call them Gurus as well, so i don't get your beef.

Debate is an old and well practised form of teaching, beating those you seek to teach over the head with a laathi tends to cause resistance.

Which saucha sauda, the story of Guru Nanak and the Rishis or sadhus or the one in sarsa with the legal problems? regards Allenwalla 21:18, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Oyaeee

Na tere sahab naal main Har ayae gayae nu guru kehan lagg pavan.

Already there is clash between sikh & Dera panthis know you want one more clash Ravidasi vs Sikhs.........Arey sikh kae hisaab sae Shiv, Vishan, Brahma bhee god nahin to kyaa hindu log unhey god manana chod daein??? Ik onkar, as in one god... This was already created by Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji... "So hung," one god.

Secondly, if you call all these true saints like Shri Guru Ravidass, Namdev, and Kabir Maharaj Ji bhagats, I say the ten gurus also have no right being called gurus.

Warning
Do you even know what a guru is? I wouldn't be surprised if you didnt, half the world dosent. Guru is a word made from 2 pharsee shabds, ga and ruu. Ga and ruu means the light that takes away darkness. Now wether you were one of the ten gurus or not, if you are a light that takes away darkness (like saints;; Ex: 108 Sant Baba Darshan dass ji, 108 Sant Baba Bhagwan dass ji etc.) then you are a guru. Therefore there is no way you or anyperson in the world has the right to call Shri Guru Ravidass, Kabir, Farid, Dhanna, Sadna, Sen, Tirlochan, and Namdev maharaj ji a bhagat.

IM PROUD TO SAY IM A RAVIDASSIAN THAT KNOWS THE TRUTH AND I WANT TO SPREAD IT ALL OVER THE WORLD. IM NOT AFRAID TO CALL MYSELF A RAVIDASSIAN, SO ALL YOU NEGATIVE THINKERS, RESPECT.

Type in " Bhagat or no? " on the search section, if you got the guts to hear the truth.
