Serving as a cultural center for some 20,000 Sikhs who reside in and around Yuba City area, the Gurdwara that sits on a 30 acre site was erected in 1969.


Blessed by the grace of the Waheguru Ji, on the first Sunday of each November, an estimated 75,000 Sikh followers from all over the world converge at this site to join in the annual Gurgiddi procession commemorating the receipt of the Sikh holy scriptures, the [[Guru Granth Sahib]], as the living embodiment of the Sikh Gurus. These scriptures were passed on to the Sikhs by their tenth and final Guru in 1708.

==Nagar Kirtan==
‘Nagar’ means town and ‘Kirtan’ is a term that refers to the singing of hymns from the Guru Granth Sahib. The term, ‘Nagar Kirtan’  describes the most essential feature of the procession which is recitation of hymns from Guru Granth Sahib, as the [[Panj Piyaras]] (5 beloved ones) lead the procession through the town.
