Ha▫o gosĝ▫ī ḝĝ pahilvĝnṛĝ. Mai gur mil ucẖ ḝumĝlṛĝ. Sabẖ ho▫ī cẖẖinjẖ ikṯẖī▫ĝ ḝa▫yu baiṯẖĝ vekẖai ĝp jī▫o. (17) |
I am a wrestler of the Lord of the World. I met with the Guru, and I have tied a tall, plumed turban. |
ਖੂਬ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਗਰੀ ਮੀਠੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੋਲ ॥ ਦਵਾਰਿਕਾ ਨਗਰੀ ਕਾਹੇ ਕੇ ਮਗੋਲ ॥੨॥ |
Kẖūb ṯerī pagrī mīṯẖe ṯere bol. Ḏavĝrikĝ nagrī kĝhe ke magol. (2) |
How handsome is your turban! And how sweet is your speech.
Why are there Moghals in the holy city of Dwaarikaa? {2) |
ਕਾਇਆ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ ਅਉਰਤ ਯਕੀਨਾ ॥ ਰੰਗ ਤਮਾਸੇ ਮਾਣਿ ਹਕੀਨਾ ॥ ਨਾਪਾਕ ਪਾਕ ਕਰਿ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਹਦੀਸਾ ਸਾਬਤ ਸੂਰਤਿ ਦਸਤਾਰ ਸਿਰਾ ॥੧੨॥ |
Kĝ▫i▫ĝ kirḝĝr a▫uraṯ yakīnĝ. Rang ṯamĝse mĝṇ hakīnĝ. Nĝpĝk pĝk kar haḝūr haḝīsĝ sĝbaṯ sūraṯ ḝasṯĝr sirĝ. (12) |
Let good deeds be your body, and faith your bride.
Play and enjoy the Lord's love and delight. Purify what is impure, and let the Lord's Presence be your religious tradition. Let your total awareness be the turban on your head. (12) |
ਫਰੀਦਾ ਮੈ ਭੋਲਾਵਾ ਪਗ ਦਾ ਮਤ ਮੈਲੀ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਗਹਿਲਾ ਰੂਹ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਸਿਰ ਭੀ ਮਿਟੀ ਖਾਇ ॥੨੬॥ |
Farīḝĝ mai bẖolĝvĝ pag ḝĝ maṯ mailī ho▫e jĝ▫e. Gahilĝ rūhu na jĝṇ▫ī sir bẖī mitī kẖĝ▫e. (26) |
Fareed, I was worried that my turban might become dirty.
My thoughtless self did not realize that one day, dust will consume my head as well. (26) |
