ਲਾਹਾ ਨਾਮ੝ ਰਤਨ੝ ਜਪਿ ਸਾਰ੝ ॥
लाहा नामढ़ रतनढ़ जपि सारढ़ ॥
Lĝhĝ nĝm raṯan jap sĝr.
Chant the jewel of the Naam, and earn the profit of the Lord.

ਲਬ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਬ੝ਰਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ੝ ॥
लबढ़ लोभढ़ बढ़रा अहंकारढ़ ॥
Lab lobẖ burĝ ahaʼnkĝr.
Greed, avarice, evil and egotism;

ਲਾੜੀ ਚਾੜੀ ਲਾਇਤਬਾਰ੝ ॥
लाड़ी चाड़ी लाइतबारढ़ ॥
Lĝṛī cẖĝṛī lĝiṯbĝr.
slander, inuendo and gossip;

ਮਨਮ੝ਖ੝ ਅੰਧਾ ਮ੝ਗਧ੝ ਗਵਾਰ੝ ॥
मनमढ़खढ़ अंधा मढ़गधढ़ गवारढ़ ॥
Manmukẖ anḝẖĝ mugaḝẖ gavĝr.
the self-willed manmukh is blind, foolish and ignorant.

ਲਾਹੇ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਆਇਆ ਜਗਿ ॥
लाहे कारणि आइआ जगि ॥
Lĝhė kĝraṇ ĝiĝ jag.
For the sake of earning the profit of the Lord, the mortal comes into the world.

ਹੋਇ ਮਜੂਰ੝ ਗਇਆ ਠਗਾਇ ਠਗਿ ॥
होइ मजूरढ़ गइआ ठगाइ ठगि ॥
Hoė majūr gaiĝ ṯẖagĝė ṯẖag.
But he becomes a mere slave laborer, and is mugged by the mugger, Maya.

ਲਾਹਾ ਨਾਮ੝ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਵੇਸਾਹ੝ ॥
लाहा नामढ़ पूंजी वेसाहढ़ ॥
Lĝhĝ nĝm pūnjī vėsĝhu.
One who earns the profit of the Naam, with the capital of faith,

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੀ ਪਤਿ ਸਚਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ੝ ॥੧੩॥
नानक सची पति सचा पातिसाहढ़ ॥१३॥
Nĝnak sacẖī paṯ sacẖĝ pĝṯisĝhu. ||13||
O Nanak, is truly honored by the True Supreme King. ||13||

ਆਇ ਵਿਗੂਤਾ ਜਗ੝ ਜਮ ਪੰਥ੝ ॥
आइ विगूता जगढ़ जम पंथढ़ ॥
Āė vigūṯĝ jag jam panth.
The world is ruined on the path of Death.

ਆਈ ਨ ਮੇਟਣ ਕੋ ਸਮਰਥ੝ ॥
आई न मेटण को समरथढ़ ॥
Āī na mėtaṇ ko samrath.
No one has the power to erase Maya's influence.

ਆਥਿ ਸੈਲ ਨੀਚ ਘਰਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
आथि सैल नीच घरि होइ ॥
Āth sail nīcẖ gẖar hoė.
If wealth visits the home of the lowliest clown,

ਆਥਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਵੈ ਜਿਸ੝ ਦੋਇ ॥
आथि देखि निवै जिसढ़ दोइ ॥
Āth ḝėkẖ nivai jis ḝoė.
seeing that wealth, all pay their respects to him.

ਆਥਿ ਹੋਇ ਤਾ ਮ੝ਗਧ੝ ਸਿਆਨਾ ॥
आथि होइ ता मढ़गधढ़ सिआना ॥
Āth hoė ṯĝ mugaḝẖ siĝnĝ.
Even an idiot is thought of as clever, if he is rich.

ਭਗਤਿ ਬਿਹੂਨਾ ਜਗ੝ ਬਉਰਾਨਾ ॥
भगति बिहूना जगढ़ बउराना ॥
Bẖagaṯ bihūnĝ jag baurĝnĝ.
Without devotional worship, the world is insane.

ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਝਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥
सभ महि वरतै झको सोइ ॥
Sabẖ meh varṯai ėko soė.
The One Lord is contained among all.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸ੝ ਪਰਗਟ੝ ਹੋਇ ॥੧੪॥
जिस नो किरपा करे तिसढ़ परगटढ़ होइ ॥१४॥
Jis no kirpĝ karė ṯis pargat hoė. ||14||
He reveals Himself, unto those whom He blesses with His Grace. ||14||

ਜ੝ਗਿ ਜ੝ਗਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ੝ ॥
जढ़गि जढ़गि थापि सदा निरवैरढ़ ॥
Jug jug thĝp saḝĝ nirvair.
Throughout the ages, the Lord is eternally established; He has no vengeance.

ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰਣਿ ਨਹੀ ਧੰਧਾ ਧੈਰ੝ ॥
जनमि मरणि नही धंधा धैरढ़ ॥
Janam maraṇ nahī ḝẖanḝẖĝ ḝẖair.
He is not subject to birth and death; He is not entangled in worldly affairs.

ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ॥
जो दीसै सो आपे आपि ॥
Jo ḝīsai so ĝpė ĝp.
Whatever is seen, is the Lord Himself.

ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਆਪੇ ਘਟ ਥਾਪਿ ॥
आपि उपाइ आपे घट थापि ॥
Āp upĝė ĝpė gẖat thĝp.
Creating Himself, He establishes Himself in the heart.

ਆਪਿ ਅਗੋਚਰ੝ ਧੰਧੈ ਲੋਈ ॥
आपि अगोचरढ़ धंधै लोई ॥
Āp agocẖar ḝẖanḝẖai loī.
He Himself is unfathomable; He links people to their affairs.

ਜੋਗ ਜ੝ਗਤਿ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ੝ ਸੋਈ ॥
जोग जढ़गति जगजीवनढ़ सोई ॥
Jog jugaṯ jagjīvan soī.
He is the Way of Yoga, the Life of the World.

ਕਰਿ ਆਚਾਰ੝ ਸਚ੝ ਸ੝ਖ੝ ਹੋਈ ॥
करि आचारढ़ सचढ़ सढ़खढ़ होई ॥
Kar ĝcẖĝr sacẖ sukẖ hoī.
Living a righteous lifestyle, true peace is found.

ਨਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣਾ ਮ੝ਕਤਿ ਕਿਵ ਹੋਈ ॥੧੫॥
नाम विहूणा मढ़कति किव होई ॥१५॥
Nĝm vihūṇĝ mukaṯ kiv hoī. ||15||
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, how can anyone find liberation? ||15||
