This is a run of the river scheme on Alakhnanda river around 260 kms from Rishikesh. The project is proposed to be constructed with 60 meters long barrage, 12 kms in length and 4 meters in diameter tunnel, with a 400 MW powerhouse.
The approximate cost of project, as per March 1996 is Rs.1154.0 crores and Rs. 32.47 crores have been spent as of on March 1997. This project has been given to private company m/s J. P. Industries.
Power purchase agreement between the company and the government has been done. The project is to complete within 5 years.
