* Lubanas were never hindus. They were followers of Sukhi Sarwar who was a peer. Even to this day many maseets of Sukhi sarwar can be found in Lubana villages. We have 2 Maseets in our pind. That census accounts anyone who is not a sunni muslim to be a hindu. Even the Ahmedi Muslims were recorded as hindus since they follow local peers. Lubanas have never been part of the hindu culture and have always detested it. Thats the reason why some Brahmins got mad at us and tried to depict us as Shudras.

* Lubanas were neither Hindus or muslims during the Era of Guru Nanak. They were followers of Sukhi Sarwar who spread the message of peace around the world. Some lubanas were impressed by the teachings of Guru Nanak and became his followers. However majority of the Lubanas became sikhs under the 9th Guru.

* The largest lubana clan multani are the desendents of the famous sultani named multani. I have great respect fro Dr Jaswant singh but he seems to be missing a low of information when it comes to the relgion and culture of lubans before sikhism. Please provide the name of ur pind. This fact has been proven by britishers and even present dy lubanas that they had links with Tursks and Sultani sect.

* Labana also means in " the one who found". This work is still used in labanki language to express "to find". Given the history of Sikh Gurus, it makes sense that Labanas work must have used for the people who found the Ninth Guru.

* Lubanas in punjab and pakistan are of turskih ancestory and many historians have written about it. Banjaras in Madhaya pradesh, andra pradesh, rajasthan, gujrat claim to be lubanas but they racially not linked to us and are generally short and dark which is completly opposite of lubanas in punjab and pakistan.

* The labanki word for salt is "loon" and the famous labana game is called 'Looni mitti'. Lubanas have been landlords way before sikhism. They were a dominating race in Sekhupura and Gujranwala before sikhism came into play. Banjaras who claim to be lubanas have no realtion with us.

* It is true that Labanas and Banjara words are used interchangeably in history. For example the Vihar Sudhar Movement of SGPC, in which Sant Baba Prem Singh Ji played an important part, gave the responsibility of conversion of Banjaras to Sant Baba Prem Singh Ji. And we from the region of Punjab know of the effect of conversion on the Labana community today. It may be true that not all Banjaras are Labanas. But we will have to have very good reasons from distancing ourselves from people who share our traditional customs and language.

* Now it is also stated by HA Rose in the Glossary of Castes and Tribes of Punjab and North West Frontier that Ajrawat's consider themselves superior to many other Labanas (the book outlines which ones), and don't intermarry with many Labana gots. Now before you take offence to this matter, do realize that I am Ajrawat too. History says what history says

* The labanas who are living in Rajasthan are from 84 villages of Sind. Our history goes back to Bhangee Misle. This history is recorded the mission which have its Gurudwars in Ajmer and Delhi. These Labanas do not speak Punjabi and have very litttle understanding of Punjabi Labanas. They donot even relate themselves to punjabi labanas

* Lambadis( what Labanas are called in Andhra Pardesh ), are closer to Northern Indians. The Lambadis are a large picturesque tribe who is found throughout Deccan though most of them are found in Andhra Pradesh, especially in Telangana. They are also called Banjaras and Sugalis. They are tall, fair complexioned, have aquiline noses and classical Nordic features. They are good agriculturist and excellent cattle breeders. They served as the commisariat of the Moghul armies. The last line is of particular interest too. The commissariat of Moghul armies work is what Lakhi Shah Labana used to do
