Chandi Di Vaar is pious Bani written on Dasam Granth. It starts with Gurmat and Ends with Gurmat. It's great Vaar of Gurmat. The fight is between qualities(Deity) and Inequalities(Demons). It's Slap on Markandya Purana Concepts. There are 40 Paurhi of this Vaar.

The Markandya Purana and Bhagwad Concepts which is written in Chandi Charitar. In those purana these are under Durga Saptsati. From those granths Guru Sahib gave their own style and wrote them in Dasma Granth.

  • In Chandi Charitar many things are against Gurmat, but in Chandi di Vaar it is not.
  • In Chandi Chariter, Creation of Universe is given wrongly as it is copy of Chandi Saptsati but here in CHandi di vaar it is not.


Why this Vaar Composed? The Creation of universe is equated with Gurmat. The Same Actors of Chandi Charitars are picked and their war is described as act of Gurmat and Manmatt.


Gurmat Translations

First Understand two Concepts:

Bhagauti = Gurmat, will explain further.

Khanda = Two Edged Sword which symbolize two kind of Matt exist.


ੴ ਵਾਹਿਗ੝ਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹ ॥ The Lord is one and the Victory is of the Lord.

The starting of line tells the work is of a person who is lover of guru and salutes the Guru. So Guru Gobind Singh first saluting the God and saying that he is always victorious

ਸ੝ਰੀ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਜੀ ਸਹਾਇ ॥ May SRI BHAGAUTI JI (Gurmat) be Helpful.

ਭਗਉਤੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਭਗਿਤ ਕਾ ਰੰਗ੝ ॥ (Page 274, Line 10) ਭਗਉਤੀ - Gurmat, ਭਗਵੰਤ - God, ਭਗਿਤ - Devotee, ਕਾ ਰੰਗ੝ - Colour

Question : Who is Bhagauti? Answer : Which have Color of Bhagwant, The Color of Bhagti of.(ਿਜਸ ਕੋਲ ਭਗਵੰਤ = ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਦੀ ਭਗਿਤ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ = ਗ੝ਰੂ ਕੀ ਮਿਤ ਹੋਵੇ !) Which means it's color of god's way which a Bhagat have.

ਸਗਲ ਿਤਆਗੈ ਦ੝ਸਟ ਕਾ ਸੰਗ੝ ॥ ਸਗਲ ਿਤਆਗੈ - Total Leave ਦ੝ਸਟ ਕਾ ਸੰਗ੝ - the Company of Dushat(Manmatt)

Totaly leave the company of Dushat(which is Mann, i.e Manmatt).

So Bhagauti means Gurmat which have colour of God which a Bhagat Adheres like person who have Sikhi is a Sikh. A Bhagat of Bhagwant have Gurmat.
