The Gurdwara was erected in 1969 and sits on a 30 acre site. It serves as a cultural center for some 20,000 Sikhs who reside in the local and surrounding area. Blessed by the grace of the Waheguru Ji, the first Sunday of each November an estimated 75,000 Sikh followers from all over the world converge at this site to join in the annual Gurgiddi procession commemorating the receipt of their holy scriptures, the Guru Granth Sahib, as the living embodiment of their Gurus. These scriptures were passed on to the Sikhs by their tenth and final Guru in 1708. Bring your family and join us this in the Nagar Kirtan celebrations. All faiths are welcome. Free food will be served all week-end. Guided tours of the Gurdwara are available. Educational materials, video, and audio tapes on Sikh faith and culture will be available for sale. For more information, view the Nagar Kirtan link.
