Jagtar Singh Hawara
Jagtar Singh Hawara, is a Sikh Millitant belonging to the Babbar Khalsa. He belongs to Hawara village in Fatehgarh Sahib. His father died in 1991. His mother's name is Narinder Kaur. He has had a main role in the assassination of the Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. He is also responsible for killing a granthi (Sikh priest) of Muktsar at the age of 15, because he claimed the granthi forced himself upon Sikh girls[1] [2].
Hawara returned to the limelight, in 2004, when he escaped from the maximum security jail at Burail, along with 2 other Sikh millitants Jagtar Singh Tara and Paramjit Singh Bheora, the third one was a cook. Hawara was caught again in 2006. On July 31st, 2007, Jagtar Singh Hawara along with Balwant Singh Rajoana was sentenced to death by hanging[3] [4] .
