Hemkunt is a Term of Divine Wisdom(Gurmat), which have Spiritual Meanings, which are going to tell in light of Guru Granth Sahib. The Term also used in Dasam Granth, which is practically and technically not associated with Lokpal Valley of Uttarakhand.

Etymology and Meaning

Hemkunt is made of two words, Hem and Kunt.
Hem means "Ice", Kunt means "Kund,Pond".
So the word itself means The Pond/Kund of Ice.

so Acc. to it's meaning and etymology, The pond which contains water could not be attributed as "Hemkunt", but it is pond of Ice.
