Bhagat Singh’s Statue in Indin Parliament

Bhagat singh.jpg

Turbaned statue of Bhagat Singh was installed in Parliament in August 2008. GOI earlier had plans to put Bhagat Singh with Hat wali Statue. Later on because of the Sikh demand to have Statue with Turban. It was decided to install the turbaned one! It was proven with Historical facts.

The statue donated by Lok Sabha Secretariat sculpted by Shri Ram Sutar. The 18-feet statue of Bhagat Singh with raised hand and clenched fist adorns Courtyard No. 5 along side the statue of another great freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

This is only the third statue being donated by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the other two being those of Mahatma Gandhi (installed in front of Parliament House gate No. 1) and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore (installed in the Parliament Library Building).
