Baba Pippal Dass Ji was a traveller and he travelled many places during his lifetime. Sant Baba Pippal Dass Ji Maharaj ( other names Shri Harnam Dass Ji) was the founder and the first spiritual master of the famous Dera, based in Jalandhar called Dera Sach Khand Ballan. Baba Pippal Dass Ji was born in the village Gill Patti, District Bathinda which is in Punjab. Baba Pippal Dass Ji was married and had 2 sons. Sant Pippal Dass Ji's wife was called Bibi Shobhawanti Ji. The 2 sons were called Shri Sewa Dass Ji and Shri Sarwan Dass Ji( who later became the most successful leader of Dera Sach Khand Ballan).
