This is the name given to a certain type of composition of unique musical and rhythmic style of text or Shabad within the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scriptures of the Sikhs. It is a lengthy Shabad commonly of four or six verses which has to sung in a "chhant" style. Having said this chhant of 1 or 2 lines are also found. These are common in the morning Kirtan of the Sikhs called the Asa di Var.
