Wjkk wjkf andd hello!! Erm, i have no idea how to use this so you might find stuff in the wrong place etc etc... forgiveth me cyber sangat!
first a little about myself:-
- Im a student in high school, in the uk.
- Im a proud sikh =)
- I live in a majority white area outside about a two hours from London, so i know what racism feels like...not nice!
- I used to live in Ilford, Essex (best place ever for us singhs ;) )
- My parents were born and raised in kenya, so theres a strong east african influence in my life (language...i get really confused about whats punjabi and whats swahili)
- Im working in my local area and with Sikh Youth all over the country to try and create a sense of unity between sikhs in the uk
- And im here to represent the Sikh Youth of the UK! So please feel free to discuss and ask about what the sikh youth in the UK are facing..i'd be happy to help and discuss!
- andd try and get more youth on here!
Also....i just saw a link for sikhi matrimonials.........(no i dont want a husband just yet.. =P ) hehe. well, dont ask me why exactly, but i did find myself looking at some random proposals on a certain sikh matrimonial service site...and some of the stuff i found on there was really wierd?!!
-references to caste..... from both males and females.... -andd references to complexion (from males asking for a bride..) they all wanted milky faced punjabans..
Call me a baby but, i have really dark skin!! And it kinda hurt to see that nobody wanted Sikhnis like me ='( *sigh* koi gal nehi....Guruji Maharaj will send me my prince ; )
haha ^^^^ (to any sikh gyallsss on this site....Your a daughter of the guru!! You deserve the best of the best! don't sell yourself short =) (i say that in reference to regular occurences here in the UK .. if you would like to know more drop a link =)
