A good page and photo. i first heard of Kargil in the movie where the Sikh officer lead the raid over the unclimbable mountain face, surprising the defenders. was sorry to learn he was one of the officers involved in Bluestar op. was he later killed for taking part in that raid? have forgotten his name.

Bollywood also had another movie with Om Puri's brother (the one who played a thuggee priest in movie, indiana jones), re the graft with the parents of a hero of the war and their efforts trying to get the petrol station permit, awarded them for their sons death in the battle. am i remembering correctly.Allenwalla 21:58, 10 March 2008 (MDT)

Here in Gainesville where i live there is a plant (factory) named Kargill, no tie in but it makes it easy to remember the area in J & K. It has huge, tall silos painted white (4 or 5) where soya bean powder is stored for oil production.Allenwalla 21:58, 10 March 2008 (MDT)
