Replica of Golden Temple
The building of a Replica of Golden Temple has become a major issue in punjab in 2009. Sikhs seem to be divided on this issue. The replica has been constructed at Gurdwara Mastuana Sahib. According. to Gen. Sec. Sukhdev Sikh Bhaur has explained that it is an exact replica of the Golden Temple. The measurements are the same, the appearance is the same, the Har Ki Pauri at the rear of the temple are there and even the bridge to the temple over a Holy sarovar has been carefully laid out to the same plan.
An Earlier Replica in Guru Hargobind's time
A Replica was built by Baba Kalu of Panchnangal during Guru Hargobind's time. It was replica of Sarovar of Amritsar which was made by Guru Arjun Dev. Baba Kalu claimed that people would get the same benifit from this amrit sarovar. Some sikhs got hurt with this. Baba Kalu was a devotee and friend of Baba Lakho who was Great Jogi and a person with wisdom.
While travellig to Kiratpur from Hargobindpur, Guru ji crossed Pulpukhta, MunnaKalan, Bodal, Pur Hiran and reached Gondpur. Guru sahib got news from people taht replica of sarovar was made at panchnangal. Sikhs asked the guru to kindly punish him. Hearing Sikhs Guru Sahib send his Soldiers to fetch Baba Kalu. Baba Kalu was caught and guru sahib was taking him to Kiratpur for punishment.
Baba Lakkho came to Guru Sahib and requested him to leave him. When two spiritual person collide they understand each other. Guru Sahib said that he have to fulfill the request of his Sikhs. Baba Lakho requested and invited those sikhs and Guru Sahib for dinner. Guru Sahib didn't went the next day for dinner. There were so many Sikhs and soldiers of the Guru that it was difficult for Baba Lakkho to provide food for all. His Siddhis however were able to provide a meal for everyone. Guru Sahib knew this. After having food Sikhs became very happy.
In Happiness Sikhs forgive Baba Kalu. Guru Sahib had no problem with replica, he said if person is making a preaching centre that there was no problem, but giving people false notions person do this then it's bad. He gave boon to Baba Kalu that your sarovar will have miraculous power if your people bow before baba lakkho who saved you.

This gurudwara could again inflame the community, which has just started recovering from the trauma of the violence over Dera Sachkhand Ballan. The SGPC had asked the Jathedars of the five Takhats to take action against those behind the replica. The Mastauna Sikhs say the structure has been under construction t since 1967, so why the fuss now?

"This is an attempt to get the Sikhs to fight with each other. Earlier there was the Dera issue and now there is this issue," said the chairman of Panthic Vichar Morcha, Parshottam Singh Phagguwala. Supporters of the Gurudwara Mastuana Sahib deny attempts to replicate the Golden Temple. They say the SGPC is just creating trouble.
Every now and then, Punjab erupts over issues pertaining to different approaches to the Sikh faith. After Dera Sacha Sauda and the Dera Sach Khand controversies, the Dera Mastuana issue of a Golden Temple look-alike at Sangrur is showing indications of snowballing into a major issue, unless efforts are made to resolve it peacefully soon.
