Pandit Ram Basant Singh,

Pandit Ram Basant Singh was born in Brahmin family of village Tohra in the house of Pandit Ram Bishen. He was a famous Nirmala Samparada's ( ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਸੰਪਰਦਾ ) Scholar. Pandit Ram Basant Singh was also a cousin of Swami Ram Tirath Dandi Sanyasi and encouraged him to be a Sikh.


Raj Purohit of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala

Maharaja Bhupinder Singh was very impressed with the knowledge of Pandit Ram Basant Singh and appointed him his Raj Purohit.


Important Note

In Nirmala Samaparada Scholars are given "Pandit" designation. It has nothing to do with Hindu title of Pundit.
