Mata Damodari, the wife of Guru Hargobind Ji, was the daughter of Narain Das of village Talla. It is said that Ani Rai, Bibi Viro & Baba Gurditta were all born to Mata Damodari. The descendants of Mata Damadari live near Gurdwara Daroli Bhai, Dist. Firozpur. They are the custodians of some rare personal belongings of Guru Hargobind Ji, as well as, a handwritten copy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib that also bears the personal seal of Guru Gobind Singh.
Some modern scholars say that Guru Hargobind had only one wife, whose name was Mata Nanaki but this is not supported by old historical texts. These same people claim that Guru Gobind Singh also had only one wife, but again this is an issue that has not been totally resolved.
