Jit Mall, a cousin of Guru Gobind Singh, was the son of Bhai Sadhu, a Khosia Khatri of Malla, in present-day Faridkot district of the Punjab, and Bibi Viro, daughter of Guru Hargobind and elder sister of Guru Tegh Bahadur.
