ਮਾਂਗਉ ਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਥੋਕ॥ ਮਾਨ੝ਖ ਕਉ ਜਾਚਤ ਸ੝ਰਮ੝ ਪਾਈਝ ਪ੝ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੋਖ ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥  
ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥
 
ਘੋਖੇ ਮ੝ਨਿ ਜਨ ਸਿੰਮ੝ਰਿਤਿ ਪ੝ਰਾਨਾਂ ਬੇਦ ਪ੝ਕਾਰਹਿ ਘੋਖ ॥ ਕ੝ਰਿਪਾ ਸਿੰਧ੝ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਚ੝ ਪਾਈਝ ਦੋਵੈ ਸ੝ਹੇਲੇ ਲੋਕ ॥1॥
 
ਆਨ ਅਚਾਰ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ ਜੇਤੇ ਬਿਨ੝ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਫੋਕ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਭੈ ਕਾਟੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੋਕ ॥2॥19॥50॥

ਪਦਅਰਥ: ਮਾਂਗਉ—ਮਾਂਗਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੇ—ਤੋਂ। ਸਭਿ—ਸਾਰੇ। ਥੋਕ—ਪਦਾਰਥ। ਕਉ—ਨੂੰ। ਜਾਚਤ—ਮੰਗਦਿਆਂ। ਸ੝ਰਮ੝—ਥਕਾਵਟ, ਖੇਚਲ। ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ—ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਮੋਖ—(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਘੋਖੇ—ਗਹ੝ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ। ਮ੝ਨਿ ਜਨ—ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਮ੝ਨੀ। ਪ੝ਕਾਰਹਿ—ਉੱਚੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਪੜ੝ਹਦੇ ਹਨ। ਘੋਖ—ਘੋਖਿ, ਗਹ੝ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ। ਸਿੰਧ੝—ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ। ਸੇਵਿ—ਸੇਵ ਕੇ, ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ। ਸਚ੝—ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ—ਨਾਮ। ਸ੝ਹੇਲੇ—ਸੌਖੇ।੧।
 
ਆਨ—{अनढ़य} ਹੋਰ। ਅਚਾਰ—ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਰਸਮਾਂ। ਬਿਉਹਾਰ—ਵਿਹਾਰ। ਜੇਤੇ—ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ। ਫੋਕ—ਫੋਕੇ, ਵਿਅਰਥ। ਭੈ—(ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਭਉ' ਤੋਂ ਬਹ੝-ਵਚਨ) ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ। ਮਿਲਿ—ਮਿਲ ਕੇ। ਸਾਧੂ—ਗ੝ਰੂ। ਸੋਕ—ਚਿੰਤਾ, ਗ਼ਮ।੨।
 
ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ (ਤਾਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ (ਹੀ) ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮਨ੝ੱਖਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੰਗਦਿਆਂ ਨਿਰੀ ਖੇਚਲ ਹੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਹ੝ੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ,) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਪਦਾਰਥ ਭੀ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ (ਭੀ) ਪ੝ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਿੰਮ੝ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਪ੝ਰਾਣ ਗਹ੝ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵੇਖੇ, ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਭੀ) ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਪੜ੝ਹਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਪਰ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨਾਮ ਪ੝ਰਾਪਤ ਹ੝ੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਸ੝ਖਦਾਈ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੧।
 
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਹੋਰ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਰਿਵਾਜ ਤੇ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਹਨ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗ੝ਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।੧੯।੫੦।

hoe nimaanee saev kamaavehi thaa preetham hovehi man piaaree ||1||


aan achaar biouhaar hai jaethae bin har simaran fok ||
sun su(n)dhar saadhhoo bachan oudhhaaree ||
naanak janam maran bhai kaattae mil saadhhoo binasae sok ||2||19||50||

I beg only from the Lord for all things.
If she renounces and eliminates her sexual desire, anger, greed and attachment, and her evil-mindedness and self-conceit as well;
I would hesitate to beg from other people. Remembering God in meditation, liberation is obtained. ||1||Pause||
and if, becoming humble, she serves Him, then she becomes dear to her Beloved's Heart. ||1||


I have studied with the silent sages, and carefully read the Simritees, the Puraanas and the Vedas; they all proclaim that,
Listen, O beautiful soul-bride: By the Word of the Holy Saint, you shall be saved.
by serving the Lord, the ocean of mercy, Truth is obtained, and both this world and the next are embellished. ||1||
Your pain, hunger and doubt shall vanish, and you shall obtain peace, O happy soul-bride. ||1||Pause||


All other rituals and customs are useless, without remembering the Lord in meditation.

O Nanak, the fear of birth and death has been removed; meeting the Holy Saint, sorrow is dispelled. ||2||19||50||

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।


ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥

ਸ੝ਣਿ ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਮਿਟੈ ਤੇਰੋ ਸਹਸਾ ਸ੝ਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kaam krodhh lobh mohu mittaavai shhuttakai dhuramath apunee dhhaaree || hoe nimaanee saev kamaavehi thaa preetham hovehi man piaaree ||1||

sun su(n)dhar saadhhoo bachan oudhhaaree || dhookh bhookh mittai thaero sehasaa sukh paavehi thoo(n) sukhaman naaree ||1|| rehaao ||

Aasaa, Fifth Mehla:

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।

ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।
