ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰਿ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਬ੝ਰਿਆਈ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਾਰਿ ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥  
ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥


ਜਨ ਕਾ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਆ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਭਾਗੇ ਹਾਰਿ ॥ ਭ੝ਰਮਤ ਭ੝ਰਮਤ ਊਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੂਝ ਬਾਹ੝ੜਿ ਗ੝ਰਿਹਿ ਨ ਮੰਝਾਰਿ ॥1॥
ਸ੝ਣਿ ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਮਿਟੈ ਤੇਰੋ ਸਹਸਾ ਸ੝ਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਪਦਅਰਥ: ਲੀਨੇ ਉਬਾਰਿ—(ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਬਚਾ ਲਝ ਹਨ, ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਚਿਤਵੈ—ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬ੝ਰਿਆਈ—ਹਾਨੀ, ਨ੝ਕਸਾਨ। ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕਉ—ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ। ਮਾਰਿ—ਮਾਰੇ, ਮਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਸਹਾਈ—ਮਦਦਗਾਰ। ਹਾਰਿ—ਹਾਰ ਖਾ ਕੇ, ਅਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ। ਭ੝ਰਮਤ ਭ੝ਰਮਤ—(ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ) ਭਟਕਦੇ ਭਟਕਦੇ। ਊਹਾਂ ਹੀ—ਉਸ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ। ਮੂਝ—ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰ ਗਝ। ਬਾਹ੝ੜਿ—ਮ੝ੜ। ਗ੝ਰਿਹਿਨ ਮੰਝਾਰਿ—ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ {ਨੋਟ: ਪਾਠ "ਗ੝ਰਿਹਿ ਨ ਮੰਝਾਰਿ" ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਸੰਬੰਧਕ "ਮੰਝਾਰਿ" ਦਾ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਗ੝ਰਿਹਿ' ਨਾਲ ਹ੝ੰਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਗ੝ਰਿਹ' ਹ੝ੰਦਾ। ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਗ੝ਰਿਹਿ' ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ 'ਘਰ ਵਿਚ'। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਸੰਬੰਧਕ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੀ। ਸੋ, ਅਸਲ ਪਾਠ ਹੈ "ਗ੝ਰਿਹਿਨ ਮੰਝਾਰਿ"। ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਗ੝ਰਿਹਿਨ' ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਗ੝ਰਿਹ' ਤੋਂ ਬਹ੝-ਵਚਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ}।੧।
kaam krodhh lobh mohu mittaavai shhuttakai dhuramath apunee dhhaaree ||
hoe nimaanee saev kamaavehi thaa preetham hovehi man piaaree ||1||


ਦ੝ਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਸਰਣਿ—ਦ੝ੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ। ਅਪਾਰਿ—ਅਪਾਰ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ। ਕੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ—ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿਚ।੨।

dhookh bhookh mittai thaero sehasaa sukh paavehi thoo(n) sukhaman naaree ||1|| rehaao ||


ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਹਾਨੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

Aasaa, Fifth Mehla:


ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ ਆਪ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ) ਹਾਰ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੧।
If she renounces and eliminates her sexual desire, anger, greed and attachment, and her evil-mindedness and self-conceit as well;
and if, becoming humble, she serves Him, then she becomes dear to her Beloved's Heart. ||1||


ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ) ਦ੝ੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗ੝ਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਦ੝ਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਨ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਕਾਲਾ ਹ੝ੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਨਿੰਦਕ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ)।੨।੧੫।
Listen, O beautiful soul-bride: By the Word of the Holy Saint, you shall be saved.
Your pain, hunger and doubt shall vanish, and you shall obtain peace, O happy soul-bride. ||1||Pause||

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।
har har leenae sa(n)th oubaar ||
har kae dhaas kee chithavai buriaaee this hee ko fir maar ||1|| rehaao ||
jan kaa aap sehaaee hoaa ni(n)dhak bhaagae haar ||
bhramath bhramath oohaa(n) hee mooeae baahurr grihi n ma(n)jhaar ||1||
naanak saran pariou dhukh bha(n)jan gun gaavai sadhaa apaar ||
ni(n)dhak kaa mukh kaalaa hoaa dheen dhuneeaa kai dharabaar ||2||15||

Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehla:
The Lord saves His Saints.
One who wishes misfortune upon the Lord's slaves, shall be destroyed by the Lord eventually. ||1||Pause||
He Himself is the help and support of His humble servants; He defeats the slanderers, and chases them away.
Wandering around aimlessly, they die out there; they never return to their homes again. ||1||
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Destroyer of pain; he sings the Glorious Praises of the infinite Lord forever.
The faces of the slanderers are blackened in the courts of this world, and the world beyond. ||2||15||


ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehla:

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।

ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।
