ਜਹ ਜਹ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਹ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਤਹ੝ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬਤ੝ਰ ਮੈ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈ ॥1॥
ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥
 
ਈਤ ਊਤ ਨਹੀ ਬੀਛ੝ੜੈ ਸੋ ਸੰਗੀ ਗਨੀਝ ॥ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਜੋ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਹਿ ਸੋ ਅਲਪ ਸ੝ਖ੝ ਭਨੀਝ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
 
ਪ੝ਰਤਿਪਾਲੈ ਅਪਿਆਉ ਦੇਇ ਕਛ੝ ਊਨ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸੰਮਾਲਤਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੝ਰਭ੝ ਸੋਈ ॥2॥
 
ਅਛਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਪਾਰ ਪ੝ਰਭ ਊਚਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਰੂਪ੝ ॥ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਨੰਦ੝ ਜਨ ਅਚਰਜ ਆਨੂਪ੝ ॥3॥

ਪਦਅਰਥ: ਜਹ ਜਹ—ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ। ਪੇਖਉ—ਪੇਖਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤਹ—ਉੱਥੇ। ਹਜੂਰਿ—ਅੰਗ—ਸੰਗ, ਹਾਜ਼ਰ। ਕਤਹ੝ ਜਾਈ—ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ। ਜਾਈ—ਥਾਂ। ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ—ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸਰਬਤ੝ਰ ਮੈ—ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ। ਮਨ—ਹੇ ਮਨ!।੧।
 
ਈਤ—ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ। ਊਤ—ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ। ਬੀਛੜੈ—ਵਿਛ੝ੜਦਾ। ਸੰਗੀ—ਸਾਥੀ। ਗਨੀਝ—ਸਮਝਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਿਮਖ—ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਸਮਾ। ਅਲਪ—ਛੋਟਾ, ਥੋੜਾ, ਹੋਛਾ। ਭਨੀਝ—ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਅਪਿਆਉ—ਰਸ ਆਦਿਕ ਖ਼੝ਰਾਕ। ਊਨ—ਕਮੀ, ਥ੝ੜ। ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ—ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ।੨।
 
ਅਛਲ—ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਅਛੇਦ—ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿੰਨਿ੝ਹਆ ਨਾਹ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਜਾ ਕਾ ਰੂਪ੝—ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ। ਜਪਿ—ਜਪ ਕੇ। ਜਨ—ਸੇਵਕ, ਭਗਤ। ਆਨੂਪ੝—ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।੩।
 
ਸਾ—ਉਹ {ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ ਲਿੰਗ}। ਪ੝ਰਭ—ਹੇ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਤ੝—ਜਿਸ (ਮਤਿ) ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਰੇਨ—ਧੂੜ। ਪਗ—ਪੈਰ।੪।
 
ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਨੂੰ ਹੀ (ਅਸਲ) ਸਾਥੀ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਾਥੋਂ) ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ (ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ) ਵੱਖਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹ੝ੰਦਾ। ਉਸ ਸ੝ਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਛਾ ਸ੝ਖ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ-ਨਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਭੀ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।੧।
 
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਸਭ ਨੂੰ) ਪਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਥ੝ੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ। ਉਹ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ (ਸਾਡੇ) ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।
 
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਛਲਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੩।
 
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੩।੨੭।

hoe nimaanee saev kamaavehi thaa preetham hovehi man piaaree ||1||


eeth ooth nehee beeshhurrai so sa(n)gee ganeeai ||
sun su(n)dhar saadhhoo bachan oudhhaaree ||
binas jaae jo nimakh mehi so alap sukh bhaneeai || rehaao ||
dhookh bhookh mittai thaero sehasaa sukh paavehi thoo(n) sukhaman naaree ||1|| rehaao ||

Wherever I look, there I see Him present; He is never far away.
If she renounces and eliminates her sexual desire, anger, greed and attachment, and her evil-mindedness and self-conceit as well;
He is all-pervading, everywhere; O my mind, meditate on Him forever. ||1||
and if, becoming humble, she serves Him, then she becomes dear to her Beloved's Heart. ||1||


He alone is called your companion, who will not be separated from you, here or hereafter.
Listen, O beautiful soul-bride: By the Word of the Holy Saint, you shall be saved.
That pleasure, which passes away in an instant, is trivial. ||Pause||
Your pain, hunger and doubt shall vanish, and you shall obtain peace, O happy soul-bride. ||1||Pause||


He cherishes us, and gives us sustenance; He does not lack anything.

With each and every breath, my God takes care of His creatures. ||2||

God is undeceiveable, impenetrable and infinite; His form is lofty and exalted.
ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।
Chanting and meditating on the embodiment of wonder and beauty, His humble servants are in bliss. ||3||
 
Bless me with such understanding, O Merciful Lord God, that I might remember You.
Nanak begs God for the gift of the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||4||3||27||


ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥

ਸ੝ਣਿ ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਮਿਟੈ ਤੇਰੋ ਸਹਸਾ ਸ੝ਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kaam krodhh lobh mohu mittaavai shhuttakai dhuramath apunee dhhaaree || hoe nimaanee saev kamaavehi thaa preetham hovehi man piaaree ||1||

sun su(n)dhar saadhhoo bachan oudhhaaree || dhookh bhookh mittai thaero sehasaa sukh paavehi thoo(n) sukhaman naaree ||1|| rehaao ||

Aasaa, Fifth Mehla:

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।

ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।
