ਸਤਿਗ੝ਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਣਾ ॥ ਤਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਨਾਮ੝ ਰਮਾਣਾ ॥ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਪ੝ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਪੈਜ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥1॥
ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥
 
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਸਦਾ ਸ੝ਖਦਾਈ ॥ ਜੋ ਇਛਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਫਲ੝ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
 
ਕ੝ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸ੝ ਪ੝ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤ੝ ਗ੝ਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ਪ੝ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਮਨ੝ ਲੀਣਾ ਪਾਰਬ੝ਰਹਮ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥2॥
 
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਸ੝ ਰਵਣਾ ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਲਾਥੀ ॥ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲੀਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਾਧ ਭਝ ਸਾਥੀ ॥3॥
 
ਕਰ੝ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਸਰਬਸ੝ ਦੀਨੇ ਆਪਹਿ ਆਪ੝ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਕਹ੝ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਬ ਥੋਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗ੝ਰ੝ ਪਾਇਆ ॥4॥15॥79॥

ਪਦਅਰਥ: ਸਤਿਗ੝ਰ ਭਾਣਾ—ਗ੝ਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਾ। ਤਾ—ਤਦੋਂ। ਰਮਾਣਾ—ਰਾਮ ਦਾ। ਪ੝ਰਭਿ—ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਨੇ। ਪੈਜ—ਲਾਜ।੧।
 
ਸ੝ਖਦਾਈ—ਸ੝ਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ। ਇਛਹਿ—ਇੱਛਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬਿਰਥੀ—ਖ਼ਾਲੀ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਪ੝ਰਾਨਪਤਿ—ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ। ਤਾ ਕੀ—ਉਸ (ਮਨ੝ੱਖ) ਦਾ। ਲੀਣਾ—ਮਸਤ। ਪਾਰਬ੝ਰਹਮ ਮਨਿ—ਪਾਰਬ੝ਰਹਮ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਭਾਵੈ—ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।
 
ਰਵਣਾ—ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ। ਜਸ੝ ਰਵਣਾ—ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ। ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ—ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਠਗਮੂਰੀ, ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਠਗ—ਬੂਟੀ। ਸੰਗਿ—ਨਾਲ। ਕਰਤੈ—ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ। ਸਾਥੀ—ਮਦਦਗਾਰ, ਸੰਗੀ।੩।
 
ਕਰ੝—ਹੱਥ {ਇਕ-ਵਚਨ}। ਗਹਿ—ਫੜ ਕੇ। ਸਰਬਸ੝—{सरढ़वसढ़व} ਸਭ ਕ੝ਝ। ਆਪਹਿ—ਆਪ ਹੀ। ਆਪ੝—ਆਪਣਾ—ਆਪ। ਥੋਕ—ਪਦਾਰਥ, ਕੰਮ।੪।
 
ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸ੝ਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ। (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਹਰਿ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ) ਜੋ ਕ੝ਝ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹੀ ਫਲ ਪ੝ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਉਤੇ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ) ਆਸ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਦੋਂ ਗ੝ਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਗ੝ਰੂ ਤ੝ਰ੝ੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ (ਗ੝ਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ! ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਅਸਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ, ਤਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ (ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ)।੧।
 
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੰਤ (ਸ੝ਭਾਉ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰ-ਭਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।
 
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਠਗ-ਬੂਟੀ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਜੋੜਿਆ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀ-ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣ ਗਝ।੩।
 
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ) ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਕ੝ਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਜਿਸ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗ੝ਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਗਝ।੪।੧੫।੭੯।

If she renounces and eliminates her sexual desire, anger, greed and attachment, and her evil-mindedness and self-conceit as well;
and if, becoming humble, she serves Him, then she becomes dear to her Beloved's Heart. ||1||


When it was pleasing to the Perfect True Guru,
Listen, O beautiful soul-bride: By the Word of the Holy Saint, you shall be saved.
then I chanted the Naam, the Name of the Pervading Lord.
Your pain, hunger and doubt shall vanish, and you shall obtain peace, O happy soul-bride. ||1||Pause||
The Lord of the Universe extended His Mercy to me,
and God saved my honor. ||1||


The Lord's feet are forever peace-giving.

Whatever fruit one desires, he receives; his hopes shall not go in vain. ||1||Pause||

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।
His soul is absorbed in loving devotional worship; his mind is pleasing to the Supreme Lord God. ||2||
 
Twenty-four hours a day, he chants the Praises of the Lord, and the bitter poison does not affect him.
My Creator Lord has united me with Himself, and the Holy Saints have become my companions. ||3||
 
Taking me by the hand, He has given me everything, and blended me with Himself.
Says Nanak, everything has been perfectly resolved; I have found the Perfect True Guru. ||4||15||79||


ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।

ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।
