ਗਰਬਿ ਗਹਿਲੜੋ ਮੂੜੜੋ ਹੀਓ ਰੇ ॥ ਹੀਓ ਮਹਰਾਜ ਰੀ ਮਾਇਓ ॥ ਡੀਹਰ ਨਿਆਈ ਮੋਹਿ ਫਾਕਿਓ ਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥
 
ਘਣੋ ਘਣੋ ਘਣੋ ਸਦ ਲੋੜੈ ਬਿਨ੝ ਲਹਣੇ ਕੈਠੈ ਪਾਇਓ ਰੇ ॥ ਮਹਰਾਜ ਰੋ ਗਾਥ੝ ਵਾਹੂ ਸਿਉ ਲ੝ਭੜਿਓ ਨਿਹਭਾਗੜੋ ਭਾਹਿ ਸੰਜੋਇਓ ਰੇ ॥1॥
 
ਸ੝ਣਿ ਮਨ ਸੀਖ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਸਗਲੋ ਥਾਰੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਪ੝ਰਾਛਤ ਮਿਟਿਓ ਰੇ ॥ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਲਹਣੋ ਮਹਰਾਜ ਰੀ ਗਾਠੜੀਓ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗਰਭਾਸਿ ਨ ਪਉੜਿਓ ਰੇ ॥2॥2॥19॥

ਪਦਅਰਥ: ਗਰਬਿ—ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ। ਗਹਿਲੜੋ—ਗਹਿਲਾ, ਬਾਵਲਾ, ਝੱਲਾ। ਮੂੜੜੋ—ਮੂੜ੝ਹਾ, ਮੂਰਖ। ਹੀਓ—ਹਿਰਦਾ। ਰੇ—ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਹਰਾਜ ਰੀ—ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦੀ। ਮਾਇਓ—ਮਾਇਆ (ਨੇ)। ਡੀਹਰ ਨਿਆਈ—ਮੱਛੀ ਵਾਂਗ। ਮੋਹਿ—ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ। ਫਾਕਿਓ—ਫਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਘਣੋ—ਬਹ੝ਤ। ਸਦ—ਸਦਾ। ਲੋੜੈ—ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬਿਨ੝ ਲਹਣੇ—ਭਾਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ। ਕੈਠੇ—ਕਿਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ, ਕਿਥੋਂ? ਮਹਰਾਜ ਰੋ—ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦਾ। ਗਾਥ੝—ਸਰੀਰ। ਵਾਹੂ ਸਿਉ—ਉਸ (ਸਰੀਰ) ਨਾਲ ਹੀ। ਲ੝ਭੜਿਓ—ਲੋਭ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਮੋਹ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਨਿਹਭਾਗੜੋ—ਨਿਭਾਗਾ। ਭਾਹਿ—(ਤ੝ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ) ਅੱਗ। ਸੰਜੋਇਓ—ਜੋੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।੧।
 
ਮਨ—ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸੀਖ—ਸਿੱਖਿਆ। ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ—ਗ੝ਰਮ੝ਖਿ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ। ਸਗਲੋ—ਸਾਰੇ। ਥਾਰੇ—ਤੇਰੇ। ਪ੝ਰਾਛਤ—ਪਾਪ। ਜਾ ਕੋ—ਜਿਸ ਦਾ। ਗਾਠੜੀਓ—ਗਠੜੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ। ਗਰਭਾਸਿ—ਗਰਭ ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ। ਨ ਪਉੜਿਓ—ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।੨।
 
ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੂਰਖ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਝੱਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ (ਪ੝ਰਭੂ) ਦੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ ਮੱਛੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਕ੝ੰਡੀ ਵਿਚ)।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਿਰਦਾ) ਸਦਾ ਬਹ੝ਤ ਬਹ੝ਤ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਮੰਗਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਪ੝ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇ? ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦਾ (ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਹੈ, ਇਸੇ ਨਾਲ (ਮੂਰਖ ਜੀਵ) ਮੋਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਿਭਾਗਾ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਤ੝ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ) ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।
 
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸ੝ਣਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕ੝ਝ ਪ੝ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।੨।੨।੧੯।

Todee, Fifth Mehla:
If she renounces and eliminates her sexual desire, anger, greed and attachment, and her evil-mindedness and self-conceit as well;
and if, becoming humble, she serves Him, then she becomes dear to her Beloved's Heart. ||1||


My foolish heart is in the grip of pride.
Listen, O beautiful soul-bride: By the Word of the Holy Saint, you shall be saved.
By the Will of my Lord God, Maya, like a witch, has swallowed my soul. ||Pause||
Your pain, hunger and doubt shall vanish, and you shall obtain peace, O happy soul-bride. ||1||Pause||


More and more, he continually yearns for more; but unless he is destined to receive, how can he obtain it?

He is entangled in wealth, bestowed by the Lord God; the unfortunate one attaches himself to the fire of desires. ||1||

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।
One who is destined to receive from the Lord, O servant Nanak, shall not be cast into the womb of reincarnation again. ||2||2||19||


ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।

ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।
