ਛਡਾਇ ਲੀਓ ਮਹਾ ਬਲੀ ਤੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਚਰਨ ਪਰਾਤਿ ॥ ਝਕ੝ ਨਾਮ੝ ਦੀਓ ਮਨ ਮੰਤਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਤਿ ॥1॥
ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥
 
ਸਤਿਗ੝ਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ੝ ਦੀਓ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਉ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਗਾਤਿ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
 
ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰ੝ ਕੀਓ ਪ੝ਰਭਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੈ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਪਾਤਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੇ ਪ੝ਰਭ ਅਪਨੇ ਸ੝ਖ੝ ਪਾਇਓ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥2॥10॥41॥

ਪਦਅਰਥ: ਮਹਾ ਬਲੀ ਤੇ—ਵੱਡੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਵਾਲੀ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਤੋਂ। ਪਰਾਤਿ—ਪ੝ਰੋ ਕੇ। ਮੰਤਾ—ਮੰਤਰ, ਉਪਦੇਸ਼। ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨ ਜਾਤਿ—ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹ੝ੰਦਾ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਗਵਾਚਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਤ ਹੂ—ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ।੧।
 
ਸਤਿਗ੝ਰਿ—ਗ੝ਰੂ ਨੇ। ਦਾਤਿ—ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼। ਕਉ—ਵਾਸਤੇ। ਗਾਤਿ—ਗਤਿ, ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰ੝—ਪੱਖ। ਪ੝ਰਭਿ—ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਨੇ। ਪਾਤਿ—ਪਤਿ, ਇੱਜ਼ਤ। ਗਹੇ—ਫੜੇ।੨।
 
ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗ੝ਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। (ਗ੝ਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗ੝ਰੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਵਾਲੀ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਗ੝ਰੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਮੰਤਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਜੋ ਨਾਹ ਨਾਸ ਹ੝ੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਕਿਤੇ ਗ੝ਆਚਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।
 
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੱਖ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, (ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ) ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਨੇ (ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਫੜ ਲਝ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ।੨।੧੦।੪੧।

Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehla:
If she renounces and eliminates her sexual desire, anger, greed and attachment, and her evil-mindedness and self-conceit as well;
and if, becoming humble, she serves Him, then she becomes dear to her Beloved's Heart. ||1||


He has saved me from the awful power of Maya, by attaching me to His feet.
Listen, O beautiful soul-bride: By the Word of the Holy Saint, you shall be saved.
He gave my mind the Mantra of the Naam, the Name of the One Lord, which shall never perish or leave me. ||1||
Your pain, hunger and doubt shall vanish, and you shall obtain peace, O happy soul-bride. ||1||Pause||


The Perfect True Guru has given this gift.

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।
Nanak has grasped the feet of his God, and has found peace, day and night. ||2||10||41||


ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥

ਸ੝ਣਿ ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਮਿਟੈ ਤੇਰੋ ਸਹਸਾ ਸ੝ਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kaam krodhh lobh mohu mittaavai shhuttakai dhuramath apunee dhhaaree || hoe nimaanee saev kamaavehi thaa preetham hovehi man piaaree ||1||

sun su(n)dhar saadhhoo bachan oudhhaaree || dhookh bhookh mittai thaero sehasaa sukh paavehi thoo(n) sukhaman naaree ||1|| rehaao ||

Aasaa, Fifth Mehla:

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।

ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।
