ਮਾਈ ਚਰਨ ਗ੝ਰ ਮੀਠੇ ॥ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਦੇਵੈ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ੝ ਕੋਟਿ ਫਲਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਗ੝ਰ ਡੀਠੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥
 
ਗ੝ਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਅਚ੝ਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਕਾਮ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਮਦ ਢੀਠੇ ॥ ਅਸਥਿਰ ਭਝ ਸਾਚ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਬਾਹ੝ਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਪੀਠੇ ॥1॥
 
ਬਿਨ੝ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਜੇਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਦਇਆਲ ਜਾਨੇ ਸਭਿ ਝੂਠੇ ॥ ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨ੝ ਪਾਇਓ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਚਲੇ ਸਭਿ ਮੂਠੇ ॥2॥8॥27॥

ਪਦਅਰਥ: ਮਾਈ-ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਭਾਗਿ-ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ। ਕੋਟਿ-ਕ੝ਰੋੜਾਂ। ਡੀਠੇ-ਡਿੱਠਿਆਂ।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਗਾਵਤ-ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ। ਅਚ੝ਤ-{अचढ़यढ़त। चढ़यढ़-ਡਿੱਗ ਪੈਣਾ} ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਕਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਮਦ-ਅਹੰਕਾਰ। ਢੀਠੇ-ਢੀਠ, ਮ੝ੜ ਮ੝ੜ ਹੱਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ। ਅਸਥਿਰ-{सढ़थिर} ਅਡੋਲ। ਸਾਚ ਰੰਗਿ-ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੝ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ। ਬਾਹ੝ਰਿ-ਮ੝ੜ। ਪੀਠੇ-ਪੀਠੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ।੧।
 
ਜੇਤੇ-ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਹਨ। ਸੰਤ ਦਇਆਲ-ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗ੝ਰੂ (ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ)। ਸਭਿ-ਸਾਰੇ। ਮੂਠੇ-ਠੱਗੇ ਹੋਝ।੨।
 
ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਜਿਸ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ (ਉਸ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਕ੝ਰੋੜਾਂ (ਪ੝ੰਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਫਲ ਪ੝ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।ਰਹਾਉ।
 
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! (ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਅਟੱਲ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗ੝ਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਮ੝ੜ ਮ੝ੜ ਹੱਲਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ (ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ) ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੝ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੝ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਅਡੋਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ (ਦੀ ਚੱਕੀ) ਵਿਚ ਮ੝ੜ ਮ੝ੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੀਸੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ।੧।
 
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨ੝ੱਖ ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ) ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ (ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ (ਦ੝ਨੀਆਵੀ) ਸ੝ਆਦਾਂ ਤੇ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠੇ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਮਾਂ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ (ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਰਤਨ (ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ) ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ (ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ) ਲ੝ਟਾ ਕੇ (ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ) ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।੮।੨੭।

Todee, Fifth Mehla:
If she renounces and eliminates her sexual desire, anger, greed and attachment, and her evil-mindedness and self-conceit as well;
and if, becoming humble, she serves Him, then she becomes dear to her Beloved's Heart. ||1||


O mother, the Guru's feet are so sweet.
Listen, O beautiful soul-bride: By the Word of the Holy Saint, you shall be saved.
By great good fortune, the Transcendent Lord has blessed me with them. Millions of rewards come from the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan. ||Pause||
Your pain, hunger and doubt shall vanish, and you shall obtain peace, O happy soul-bride. ||1||Pause||


Singing the Glorious Praises of the imperishable, indestructible Lord, sexual desire, anger and stubborn pride vanish.

Those who are imbued with the Love of the True Lord become permanent and eternal; birth and death do not grind them down any more. ||1||

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।
Servant Nanak has found the jewel of the Naam; without the Naam, all must depart, cheated and plundered. ||2||8||27||


ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਕਾਮ੝ ਕ੝ਰੋਧ੝ ਲੋਭ੝ ਮੋਹ੝ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਛ੝ਟਕੈ ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਪ੝ਰੀਤਮ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥

ਸ੝ਣਿ ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਮਿਟੈ ਤੇਰੋ ਸਹਸਾ ਸ੝ਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kaam krodhh lobh mohu mittaavai shhuttakai dhuramath apunee dhhaaree || hoe nimaanee saev kamaavehi thaa preetham hovehi man piaaree ||1||

sun su(n)dhar saadhhoo bachan oudhhaaree || dhookh bhookh mittai thaero sehasaa sukh paavehi thoo(n) sukhaman naaree ||1|| rehaao ||

Aasaa, Fifth Mehla:

ਪਦਅਰਥ:- ਮਿਟਾਵੈ-ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਛ੝ਟਕੈ-ਮ੝ੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਦ੝ਰਮਤਿ-ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ । ਅਪ੝ਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ । ਕਮਾਵਹਿ-ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰੇਂ । ਮਨਿ-ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ।1।

ਸ੝ੰਦਰਿ-ਹੇ ਸ੝ੰਦਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ਸਾਧੂ ਬਚਨ-ਗ੝ਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ । ਉਧਾਰੀ-ਉਧਾਰਿ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮ੝ੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡ੝ੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ । ਸਹਸਾ-ਸਹਮ । ਸ੝ਖਮਨਿ-ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਰੀ-ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੝ਰੀ! ।1।ਰਹਾਉ।
