Punjabi Font

Punjabi likhan dae 2 tareka haan. One is Ascii ta duusara hae unicode. Jarah unicode hae aahae navaa (new) tae vadeeha (better) raaha (road) hae. So unicode saanuuh vartaana cheedah-hae. We should definitely use unicode. Eess-nuu vartan laeey - you need to have Window 2000 or better. Windows XP works very well with Unicode and Gurmukhi. Paala unicode nuuh apna computer tae "enable" karna pandh hae.

Jadho unicode Gurmukhi saa-hee enable hoo-gavaa, ta faarh jarah Hukamnama mainpage hah, ooho sahee tu-hah-nuu dEE-saa-ga. When you have unicode Gurmukhi properly enabled on your computer, you will be able to properly read/see the Hukamnama on the main SikhiWiki page here.

Tusee firah Gurmukhi type vee kaar sak dae ta screen tto paarh vee sak dae.

Sanuu ASCII Punjabi font nahee (shoul NOT) vartna cha-hee-dae. We should stop using ASCII Punjabi fonts as the support for these will disappear. Also, many sites like Srigranth.org, etc only use Unicode.

Also, you can easily convert from Ascii Punjabi to Unicode by using Gurmukhi Unicode Conversion Application. See this link for more information. Eess la-hee, sah-noo ASCII punjabi nehee vartanee ch-hee-dee tay Unicode da istaa-maal (use) karna chahee dae hah.

I hope this help. Gur di fateh, das, Hari Singh 09:17, 24 May 2007 (EDT)
