Does anyone know the meaning of

The cultural degeneration of Indians, especially Panjabi heritage defamed the title 'Mirasi' and reduced its connotation to a beggar poet.

Who says Indians were culturally degenerate or faced a cultural degeneration? Why would someone write that Panjabi heritage defamed the title 'Mirasi' and reduced its connotation to a beggar poet.

Under Akbar Mirasis were court bards (but not everyone could work for Akbar), with musicians and music banished under Aurangzeb, Mirasis were forced to become beggar poets.

Today musicians face the same witch hunts they faced in Auranzeb's days. See A Rebab smashed

Can this article somehow be linked to the Rababi article..they are almost the same thing..
