Tajvinder Singh was born on July 22, 1985 in Hollywood, California, United States. He was brought up in a very religious enviroment. He began his schooling in Kerman, California and at the age of thirteen, attended middle school at St. Mary's School in Delano, California. Tajvinder Singh took amrit at the age of 13 at the Bakersfield Sikh Temple in California. Tajvinder Singh had now gained interest in Kirtan and tabla and began attending Gurmat camps ever since then. In 10th grade, his family moved to Sacramento, California where he graduated from Elk Grove High School (Class of 2003). After graduating high school, Tajvinder Singh had been admitted into California State University, Sacramento where he pursued a bachelors of arts degree in Ethnic Studes.

At the age of 21, Tajvinder Singh had now been performing free Kirtan seva at different stages in California and became well known amongst the Gurdwaras. He had also performed Kirtan with and played tabla with many ragis and professors from all over the world. He is a holder of many trophies and awards from various classical Kirtan and classical tabla competitions in California. He also served as a Kirtan and tabla teacher at many Gurmat youth camps in California. Along with Kirtan and tabla, Tajvinder Singh can also play the dholki, surmandal, and sitar. He learned the sitar under Ustad Jyoti Kaur. In February 2007, Tajvinder Singh followed his childhood dream which was to do Kirtan at Sri Darbar Sahib. On July 2007, just two days before his 22nd birthday, he was appointed as "Hazoori Ragi Sri Darbar Sahib" - the youngest Darbar Sahib ragi in history, as well as the first American born Sikh, to become a Harimandir Sahib ragi.

Even after receiving the title of "Hazoori ragi", Tajvinder Singh still wanted to further his knowledge in classical Kirtan. In 2008, he became a student of Bhai Gurmeet Singh Ji Shaant of Jalandhar. Bhai Sahib is currently residing in Amritsar since February 2007. He plans on visiting USA and the UK very soon. Visit Tajvinder Singh's facebook music page to read more about his achievements.
