Simran Lamba akaSimranpreet Singh Lamba[1] , an armymen, who is the first Sikh in almost three decades to be enlisted in the US army. He has been allowed to join the armed forces with his untrimmed beard and turban. He could speak Punjabi, Hindi and English.[2]

He have done industrial engineering in USA. The US Army does have two Sikh officers but Simran Lambra is the first enlisted solider in 30 years graduate from the US Army.[3]


During his interviews he said that he is proud to be a Sikh, proud to be a U.S. citizen, and proud to be a U.S. Army soldier.[4]
