| The Jatt (Jat, Jutt, Jaat) people are a community in the Punjab region of northwestern India, often mistaken as a caste, In broader terms they are an ethnic group, similar to Gujjars and Pashtuns,. They inhabit the states of Haryana, Punjab, UP and Rajasthan and are also numerous in Punjab, Pakistan, with small populations also found in Baluchistan and Afghanistan.
