Langar is a common tradition in the Sikh community, where people of all faith and statures are served food in an act that signifies equality and sharing among humanity.
 
In March 2009, the Sikh Student Association of AUA College of Medicine took up a project with the support of the Catholic and Methodist Church in Antigua to feed the needy of Antigua. Once a month the Sikhs of AUA exercise the concept of [[Seva]] and [[Langar]] into their daily lives, while educating the public about Sikhs and who they are. The initiative was started by a few and grew to be the major seva project for the Sikh Students Association of AUA.
