Jagtar Singh Hawara, is a Sikh Millitant belonging to the Babbar Khalsa. He belongs to Hawara village in Fatehgarh Sahib. His father died in 1991. His mother's name is Narinder Kaur. He has had a main role in the assassination of the Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. He is also responsible for killing a granthi (Sikh priest) of Muktsar at the age of 15, because he claimed the granthi forced upon Sikh girls. Hawara came back into limelight, in 2004, when he escaped from maximum security jail at Burail, along with 2 other Sikh millitants (Jagtar Singh Tara & Paramjit Singh Bheora), the third one was a cook. Hawara was caught again in 2006. On July 31st, 2007, Jagtar Singh Hawara along with Balwant Singh Rajoana was sentenced to be hanged till death.
