Historicalgurudwaras.com is a Website Project concerning Sikh Places and History, covering all Sikh Shrines around the world and all the data and information including history and Photographs are put on WWW so that people around world could know and enjoy the history of Sikhs and could see places related to Sikhism. The website contains information of 340 Gurdwaras around world, as per 19th February 2011. This web project also includes Google Maps facility so that one could easily trace the way to reach particular historical shrine. The new additions are done regularly to the website.

History

Old Look of Website

This project was started by Narinder Singh Bhangu in 2006. It was registered under URL Itihaasakgurudwaras.com. In June 2010, it was shifted to Historicalgurudwaras.com. He himselves visit the Sacred Places and bring the information accordingly. Lakhs of people visit the website for taking information and Darshan of these shrines.

Message from Narinder Singh :- The main idea behind this site is to provide all possible information about these sacred places. We are trying to cover every Historical Gurudwara that has a specific relation in the history of Sikhism. The site will have every detail of these Historical Gurudwara Sahibs. The story behind the existence of the same. On this website you will find all the relevant information related to these historical places in Sikh history, right from the story to the pictures of the same. Moreover you will find the basic information about Sikh Religion and their ethics. It is a move initiated to spread the message of holy Guru Sahibs to every human being and more importantly it will provide us a platform to share and learn all about these historical places that have played a special role in the history of Sikhism. We all are the children of almighty – Akal Purakh and with his blessings we have created a platform where we can learn about those sacred places that are all around us.

The site is also having google map which helps people find the exact location of Gurudwara Sahib.

Websites chronicle historical gurdwaras Express News Service May 31, 2011 Chandigarh Now a young engineer has designed a website providing details about 387 gurdwaras, their history, location, personal belongings of different Gurus and Sikh personalities (if any) preserved at different gurdwaras.

Addressing a press conference here today, Narinder Singh Bhangu, engineer by profession who has been visiting the gurdwaras since 2006 and has visited 387 gurdwaras, said, “I have designed two websites www.historicalgurudwaras.com and www.itihaasakgurudwaras.com devoted to the Historical Gurudwara Sahibs globally. Besides virtually providing and sharing all relevant information related to historical places, it also provides pictorial presentation useful for devotees and students of Sikh history. The site is of special importance to all physically disadvantaged people, who cannot visit faraway places.”
