Gyan: (Gurmukhi: ਗਿਆਨ s ) is a word in Punjabi which means 'knowledge' or 'wisdom'; and is used to refer to someone who is wise and is spiritually knowledgeable. The word Gyani which is used to refer to someone learned in the Sikh religion or knowledgeable in "Dharam" or "path of righteousness". The 'priest' in a Gurdwara (Sikh place of worship) is referred to as a "Giani" or "Gyani".
Agyan: (Gurmukhi: ਅਗਿਆਨ s ) is the opposite of 'Gyan' and means 'lack of knowledge' or 'ignorance' or unwise about spiritual matters.
