Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji visited this site, during his missionery travels across the Malwa region. It is believed that at this time Lakhi Shah Banjara, was staying in the village. He lost his bull. He vowed that if he found his bull, he will offer nine takas to Guruji. After sometime he found his bull in the forest. As per his pledge he offered nine takas to Guruji. Guruji gave these takas to the congregation even without touching them. Lakhi Shah Banjara thought that may be his offering was too small, so he said, "At present, I have only that many takas, I shall give more afterwards. At this Guruji replied, "No, my beloved even your nine takas, are equivalent to nine lakhs". Since then villege is known as Naulakha.
