Gurdwara Sahib Shahidan, Ladhewal: Difference between revisions

Gurdwara Sahib Shahidan is a wonderful historical shrine located at Ladhewal in Mahilpur in Distt Hoshiarpur. This shrine is dedicated to Sahibzada Ajit singh, the elder sahibzada of Shri Guru Gobind Singh jee.

History

Acc. to history, The owner of a village Basian was Hakim Zabar Khan. He always do zulam on hindu people and he use to snatch the doli of hindu girls and rape them and do bad bad things.

There was a poor Brahmin Name Devi Das lived in village Jaijon. Hakim Zabar Khan took away his wife to his palace. The Brahmin was sad hearted and wept before the qazis and other Religious leaders, but nobuddy cares. Sad from every person, he went to guru gobind singh at Anandpur Sahib and pray before him.

When Guru Gobind Singh jee heard the story of Brahmin Devi Dass. He send Baba Ajit SIngh with 200 Singhs to give punishment to zabar khan what he did. In evening Sabizada Ajit SIngh attacked on Bassi village. After battle Sahibzada wins and Zabar khan was tied send to anandpur sahib and wife of devi dass was sent to her home.

On monday Sahibzada reached in here in evening, some of wounded singhs were dead here on same night. the cremation of those singhs were done by Sabizada himself in morning. then Baba Ajeet singh moved towards anandpur sahib.

In the remembrance of Baba Ajit SIngh and Shahed singhs every tuesday the jorh mela organized and every tuesday in jeth month amrit ceremony held here.
