Gurdwara Joga Singh at Peshawar was founded by Hari Singh Nalwa, in the days went he held Peshawar as the famed and feared general of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's army. This gurdwara was shut down in 1947 during the troubled times of the British partition of India.
Then, in 1980, the Pakistan government had a change of heart and gave permission to Sikhs to start the Gurdwara once again. It only took the Sikhs three days to clean up 33 years of neglect and misuse.
