The killing of a female child in the mother's womb is called girlchild foeticide (a Greek word, lit. the murder of a female foetus). This practice is strictly forbidden in Sikhism.
Today there is a need to spread the Guru's message on this important issue as the number of female Sikh children is decreasing day by day as per the recent surveys.
