After the death of her husband in 1797, She with the help of her brothers brought up the young Hari Singh Nalwa. training him in Sikh Martial arts, and became fearless administrator and an expert in archery, armoury and musketry. Her son Hari Singh, also took the Sikh Initiation, (Sikh Baptism), in his early Childhood years.
