Bhai Kishna (d. 1621), a Jharijhi Khatri, accompanied by Bhai Pammu, a Khatri of Puri clan, once waited on Guru Hargobind to seek instruction. The Guru, says Bhai Mani Singh in Sikhan di Bhagat Mala, advised them to practise nam. "Nam, i.e. the Word", said the Guru, "eradicates sin." Bhai Kishna attached himself to the feet of Guru Hargobind and trained in the manly arts. He died fighting in the battle of Ruhela.
