He was one of the devoted  Sikhs  of the time of  Guru  Hargobind and was one of those who accompanied the  Guru as he was moving towards Jalandhar after leaving Amritsar. According to "Bhatt Vahi Multani Sindhi," he fought bravely in the battle that took place on IJeth 1692 Bk/ 29 April 1635 at  Phagwara  between a Mughal force and the Sikhs.  Bhai  Dasa was killed in this battle.
